I was listening to Radio 4 Any Questions last night  ( for anyone not familiar, its the Radio version of BBC's Question Time on TV).  It was coming from Scotland so the panel was Scottish biased and the question of "should the act of men paying for sex be criminalised" came up. This is in light of the present cross party group in London pushing for it as well as the EC and of course Sweden moving that way.

Well for once the panel seemed to give sensible answers and the audience vote at the end was also very interesting! London and the EC, take note please!  They all seemed to get a little tied up with the trafficking element to some extent as usual though...

The program is on Radio 4 again today at 13.10pm or if you just want to hear the questions and answers to this question itself then BBC IPlayer External Link/Members Only  Question starts at 30mins 50 seconds through to about 38 mins 30 secs.

Just listened to this and it is excellent to hear a reasonably intelligent discussion for once.

In addition, BBC Radio 4 today - Womans hour 4.00pm  has just had the first 20 mins of the program dedicated to this issue as well. They interview one ex prossie who wants the criminalisation to go ahead and 3 other girls that think the opposite. The one for criminalising is a ex street-worker / druggie. The ones against are independants / have worked in sauna's.

Apparently Mondays program will feature interviews with 3 men that pay for sex.

Not on IPlayer yet as the program is still running as I post..
