One for the techies.
I've noticed more and more girls on DirectCam requesting client webcam C2C access in shows, which can be fun to be watched.
My question is  how safe is it to engage in C2C?
While I appreciate the screen can be recorded, is there any way that the cam girl can track you ip address/identity from c2c sessions?

It depends if your face is already out there on the internet. She could grab an image of your face & do a search which might, for example, thow up your Facebook or Linkedin account. Then the potential for problems is obvious. It's unlikley she could do much with just your IP address & using a VPN would prevent that issue anyway.

You’re dealing with a hell of an experienced IT Crowd type girl if she can grab a still of your face and use it to find your Facebook! But if you insist on doing C2C with the CIA then go ahead!

C2C is fine if done through AW system, they won’t be able to find any details and even if they could an IP address doesn’t link to one person, it barely links to a location and can easily be forged, changed, misled or other.

Your main concern should be them recording the session and then threatening to release it. A simple upload to a pornhub type site and you’re on the internet for anyone, friend or foe, to find.

Always careful to be 'todger only' in shot and nothing else identifiable and really nothing of interest to put on PH, so was confident from that point of view, it was just the tracking back i was curious about, but looks like its a fairly safe practice otherwise.

While using the AW Direct Cam option there is field for viewer ip address and location if you go into paid mode (group or private)

I'm not overly techie and to be honest I have no inclination to see what (if anything) can with that info, or even how accurate it is, but it is available.

It can ID the viewers town/village/city and not much more.

While none of the examples linked to below specifically used Adultwork C2C online blackmail is a very real danger if you are not very careful.

This was exactly my thinking. You’re only cover is obviously they do t know any information on you whereas those examples are where people have been tricked in to thinking this was some sort of relationship.

My advice, if a girl asks for your cam make sure she can only see your unmentionables!
