You can filter messages to only show within a certain distance.

I also find hiding my profile from dashboard is better - usually those who initiate conversations (not always I know) have bad intentions or are escorts/picture sellers so I don’t think I really am missing out on having it hidden. Plus girls literally get spammed messages that they are too busy going through them rather than looking through the dashboard.
