Bit of advice on first time use of Cialis

I usually take 50 or 75mg of Sildenafil but have an all day 3 punt session booked in a couple of weeks time and know it won't last.

I've ordered 20mg Cialis but unfortunately unless I trial at home (awkward!) I have no way of knowing how much will work. Understand you guys can't predict what will happen if I was to take the full 20 or have half dose.

So after reading other threads take it half to an hour before first required, is this on empty stomach like Sildenafil or doesn't it matter? If I was only to take 10mg and found it not too successful can it be topped up with another 10mg?

Looking forward to my day of debauchery and want to make the most of my 3 bookings

   Hi Budz  I have been using 10 MG cut in half and found it worked brilliantly ,  someone on here suggested taking it the day before, haven't tried that but certainly  the pills effect is as good on the second day and this effect can be felt up to a week later . Tbh  if it was me in your situation I would take 10 MG the day before see how you get on with the first punt,  and if needed take another 10 in time for your second punt,  The previous link was interesting but  it did say to take the pills only once-a-day.  Only once have I had any reaction to the Pills and that was a  little bit of a red face,  I always take them after breakfast as I set out, happy punting and let us know how you get on. I see it doesn't matter about food either which is good coz not eating properly on the day when taking Sildenafil certainly knocks my energy reserves.

Think I will take 10mg in the morning of the day before as suggested and then another 10 the day of the punts if required.  I have an hour between each 1 and I'm working up from never before seen WG to a past regular to my favourite at the moment.  Should be a fun day

I've recently switched from Sildenafil to Cialis.

I experienced mild side effects with Sildenafil; slight headache, blocked nose, facial flushing etc. They were manageable but I was always conscious of the flushing. After reading on here about the longer lasting effect of Cialis I ordered some on line from Assured Pharmacy. At first I thought that a 10mg pill would not have the same effect as a 25mg Sildenafil but boy they do!

I experienced no side effects, was able to enjoy a decent erection during a weekend session with a fuck buddy and 3 days later it's still working. Certainly I found that my Cialis erection was no better or worse that a Sildenafil one. I also experienced a loss of sensation with Sildenafil which I didn't get with Cialis so repeat pops were easy.

I've not been continually hard for 3 days, but when needed the little chap still rises to the occasion and I can tell it's an assisted erection and not a normal, not-as-hard-as-it used-to-be one. Happy days.

Ah this is interesting.
Been using sildenafil for about a year now and i get very mild to no side effects. I do get the slight desensitization but since i struggle to cum anyway, its no biggie.
My problem with sildenafil is 100mg max per day (although i have gone over that a couple of times with no ill effects) and sometimes my sessions can be somewhat... extended.

So i think both cost wise and ease of use it will be better for me to use cialis.

I know its stupid but, i fail to see how one pill can outlast another with such a large margin of difference.
Sildenafil = 4 hours.
Cialis = 1-2 days???

Why not go ask your doctor ? You don't need to fill in the background story but surely a doctor is best qualified to answer this query. You will get opinions and personal experience stories here but everyone is different and weight, age etc can be factors. Take too much and it could be potentially hazardous. Seek proffessional advice !

In my experience, one Cialis 20 mg lasts the weekend, or 48 - 60 hours. I've used them a lot, but only once for punting. I took one on the evening before the punt and was raring to go for the whole punt (one hour) and could have done another couple of punts on the following day. Great stuff, but wasted if the supply of fanny is low.

Then about 3 hours later it started to work, slightly better effect than sidenafil and lasted for about 24 hours.

Different drugs 'disappear' from your body at different rates.  Sildenafil is quite slow compared with most drugs, but Cialis is even slower.

A lot also depends on how turned on you are. I was told by my GP (yes I got my Cialis on the NHS) that it is important that sexual stimulation takes place. I've used both Sildenafil and Cialis and TBH found little difference in the time they take to work. Sildenafil lasts about three or four hours and a repeat erection happens within a few minutes of orgasm. Cialis lasts (see above) but it takes (me) about one-to-two hours to get hard again. So, IMHO, Sildenafil is best for punting but with Cialis you really need a GF, otherwise you will waste a lot of boners (or spend a lot of brass).

Quickest acting, shortest duration of action, so the side effects should wear off ( if you get any ) more quickly too.

I also buy 20mg pills and cut them in half - for a weekend of encounters I take one 10mg one day - and 10mg the next - absolutely true that it lasts a good couple of day (reported typically to be 36 hours active) and is better than the other stuff as it can be taken well in advance of some action and stays good for a long while.

One thing I noticed is that it can be a few hours to kick in fully (maybe 4) rather than just 30 mins as suggested.

I get a very slight headache, which is reassuring as an indicator that it is taking effect. On occasions a bit of heartburn but no big deal.

Got to say Cialis is better than the other stuff - I get mine in Lloyds pharmacy - about £40 for 4 and they will give 10% discount of you go online - start to order and come out before ordering. You always seem to get an email with the discount to go back and buy.

Thanks for the info Conway _ hound. Very helpful. Done a bit of reading overnight and will take 10 the night before and 10 on the day. Also get my stuff from Lloyds and they had sent me a 15% discount code recently so used that.  Going up to Birmingham on Friday so will keep an eye out for any discount codes in the service stations.

I use lloyds as can't have stuff delivered for obvious reasons but yesterday whilst in there waiting a client of mine came up and said hello, AWKWARD! LOL

I buy the daily version of 5mg but only use 1 on the  day of the punt and find they work great, no side effects for me and for less than £2.50  per pill and 100% genuine ..

It was me that posted about Cialis being more effective IMHO on day 2 than day 1.

I'm on a 2 punt day today.

First punt for 1 hour this morning and second one for 2 hours is going to happen in about an hour.

Took 20mg of Cialis this morning an hour before the first punt and I can still feel it now.

To an extent, the Cialis is a psychological crutch which I take as a matter of course. I never bother to take one when I'm with my regular partner.
Also, Cialis does tend to remain in the body for a long time and can be taken with food and booze in my experience.

Yeah I think you are absolutely right - a lot of this is about performance anxiety, which is all you need to stay flaccid throughout the encounter. Some of the medical sites do say that Cialis sometimes is given for a psychological boost, just to get you over the anxiety of failure. Thereafter once the confidence comes back, you can fly solo! I do tend to see the tablet as a bit of a belt and braces thing - and I have to say, it does get the hardness rating up a bit on the normal level

I can get an erection no probs but i don't want to run the risk of failure (and hence a waste of money) so i choose to take ED drugs as a safety precaution.
I am fully aware that it is a psychological crutch but i do it anyway and it works for me. Haven't had any erection problems in a long time, well... apart from condom issues but that's quite normal apparently.

Like u, Kriss; I got my Sildenafil on the NHS but it had become less effective than it used to be. The locum GP who saw me went through the books and recommended a switch to Cialis. I've never looked back since. And I've often got a semi on on my way home.
