Author Topic: Some advice for the paranoid  (Read 5723 times)

I have finally changed the title of this thread as it has been irritating me for some time, having little relevance with the content.
Thankyou,
 NIK

If Admin wants to move this post to a more secure area, please do so.  But i won't be able to see the responses

I you are retired, self-employed and single then ii is I presume a lot easier to engage in the hobby than it is for a married, employed guy.  I just want to point out the pitfalls of not adhering to common sense measure to protect your job, marriage, relationship and reputation. If it goes tits up
I have made mistakes and I want others to learn from the mistakes, a lot of this has been documented previously and I will include mistakes I made.  If you know who I am, don’t mention my name please, I have been out of the punting game for 2 years now but my ex employer and ex-wife will still be looking for evidence.

Punting Phone
An absolute must
Sat Nav
Don’t use
Work WiFi and PC’s
Never ever use a work PC or Work WiFi to look at AW, UKP or UKE.  I would go as far as to say, never use your 4G phone during working hours
Adult Work
Make sure your AW name is not your UKP name
If you write feedback for WGs just leave the minimum required to establish you are a respectful punter.
UKP
Never tell WGs you are a member
If you write a review on a WGs then write them a couple of weeks later and change the day and time of the meeting and ensure you add something bogus in the review that throws them of the scent, colour of your skin, height, weight cock size etc
Never use your UKP NAME in the Review Title or in the Review its self (I will explain this later)
UKE
Given that your AW and UKP names are different then it goes without saying that then your UKE name should be different.

Worse mistakes you can make or are making if you are an established punter
•   Don’t have a punter phone
•   Don't Leave explicit AW feedback
•   Don’t say you are a UKP member
•   Don’t use work related equipment, services or time for your hobby
•   Don’t put your UKP name in a Review Title
•   Don’t refer to your UKP name or sign off as your UKP name (because if Admin changes your name, a simple search as a guest will bring up any thread or review with your name in it)
•   Don’t tell anyone you punt
•   Change your style of review each time so they are nor immediately recognisable as yours

Mistakes you can inadvertently make in REVIEWS, that might cause issues for punters trying to change ID

•   Don’t quote reviews with an answer, i.e. don’t quote a complete review with a message, great review xxxxxxx seems like you had a good time… This brings up the review when searching for the old UKP name
•   Only quote relevant info in a review or forum posting trying to ensure reviewer or posters name is not included

I think that is as much as I can think of at the moment, hopefully this is useful especially to NEW UKP members, established members it may be too late.

Welcome to UKP Pedro.

This topic comes up regularly for discussion, to the extent that some kind members on here have prepared a guide for newbies, as well as experienced punters, so that they avoid any pitfalls.

Worth reading it, as it contains guidance on other punting matters as well.

A lot of advice from a "brand new member"

I have some advice to offer.

If getting caught is really such a worry it may be better to find a safer hobby, maybe trainspotting or knitting.    :hi:

Good advice. Personally, I rather think the Op is not new to UKP and may have had a different UKP account (dead or alive!). But that's OK, I don't think anything sinister is going off here ... Op has obviously been caught out though.  :timeout:

Agree. I have never had a 'punting phone'. I have all on making sure I don't lose my one phone!
As for the rest it's common sense. I have never left AW feedback, indeed never booked though Aw. As for not using work equipment that is a no brainer. Anyone who does deserves to get all they bring on themselves.

Common sense points put by the OP - unfortunately most punters seem to ignore them, especially with their ''I'm meeting Slutty Sarah at 2pm'' bollocks.

The title of the topic is what baffles me. Punting is not a great hobby.. unless your a newbie. Punting is an extremely expensive hobby with ever diminishing returns.

Punting is a great hobby if you have a great run of punts. However it's a frustrating entity if you have a crap run of punts, are constantly cancelled and have subsquent difficulty rescheduling, or are messed about by the WG.

Back to the OP, he has some very good points.

That is just common sense, we don't need someone who has been here for 24 hours telling us the obvious.   :dash:

Some total bollocks as well ------------- like "Don't use Sat-Nav"

You can delete all content at the end of the journey.

Would anyones wives/girlfriends ever check the sat nav's data records to see where you have been? If so that is a problem with the relationship in itself.

You can add many things to this list by the OP if he wanted. Such as turn off GPS tracking on your smart phone - or use a simple el-chepo Nokia. Or always use Incognito mode in your internet browser and so forth.

But really its just a case of use commonsense. And don't ever tell a WG anything about you. Your real name/real job etc. She doesn't care what you do for a living and in reality all you are doing is giving her stuff to use against you if she wishes.

The satnav in my cars saves the previous destinations, so the next person using the nav will see those destination whether they're checking up or not. That's assuming you forget to delete them.

It's better to use the Nav on your phone. They really would have to be checking up to look at that.

Some sound advice there , covers all of the main safety precautions that spring to mind.

To nitpick a couple of the UKP related pieces of advice ie varying review writing style and not quoting reviews are of questionable value.A members full list of posts and reviews can be brought up by clicking on their profile name , making these precautions void.If your UKP identity had been discovered and a name change had been granted then couldn't the same method still be used with the new username ?

If it was a good relationship then the guy would not be wasting his money on fucking prostitutes.    :hi: :hi:

If Admin wants to move this post

To the bin more like, sounds like a load of waffle from a pro$$ie with to much time on her hands pretending to be a punter.

What's your next guide going to be, the days of the week, tell us how Monday comes before Tuesday, then Wednesday etc and don't forget to tell us it gets dark between the days (sometimes known as night time)

Also punting is only a Great Hobby if it is a Simple Hobby!! :yahoo:

Good reminder to those that are gambling their home life and job, I'm the lucky one nobody checking on me sure this will..

Possibly get your mates not to mention your name on every other review in the region also, with comments like punter x is at prossie y.  Not sure why you would even tell anyone these specifics really, its not important !

Not sure you can start blaming commenter's really ????

Punting breeds paranoia but just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't after you.

I guess I'm in the minority in that I don't have a punting phone. I'm single with no real responsibilities, but it could still come back to bite me in the arse so I should probably get one at some point.

Offline Sonny Crockett

Punting can also be a great hobby if you keep it interesting where you try new things....... It helps if the girl in question is genuinely interested with what you want and goes through with it...... Not bullshit you about and flake out at the last moment, confirming she was not interested all along!!!!
