The other officers basically said he made so many school boy errors that he should have known not to make to avoid being caught but as said above he must have figured that a punter would just cough up.
Fair play to the punter for going to the cops and risking being outed to his wife etc and fair play to the cops for keeping it quiet though i'm never convinced that blurring faces etc hides an identity properly if you actually know the person, they also commented that paying for sex isn't illegal.

The application to increase the sentence was refused, he was given 18 months, terms shorter than 5 years are halved, the second half is concluded out of prison on licence, so that's 9 months, given that he's a copper and will get his head kicked in frequently there's a good chance the will be further halved and the second 4 and a half months will be spent at home with a tag and a curfew.

So about 18 weeks in prison for an 18 month sentence.

Incorrect, as I said and I have triple checked to make sure he was originally given 18 months but on appeal it was increased to 3 years, and the Chief Constable of his old force said he had asked for the appeal, I cant see the CC lying on camera about that. Always best to check the actual facts before posting I find.

god Yes, the company i work for trades globally, and we refuse any enquiries or orders from Nigeria......... got burnt once for £5K, paid on a credit card which turned out to be stolen.  The goods were shipped to Nigeria.

Is it a wind up, or are you a copper, I’ve know loads both personally and through intimidation when I had a run in with one (only reporting a crime and complained it wasn’t followed up properly) I suffered months of knocks at the door and the car regularly being pulled up all by different coppers, I had to sit in the police station for over an hour to make an official complaint to the chief constable. It stopped immediately.

Yes there are some decent coppers but also some rotten ones and like it or not the system is geared in their favour. You only have to look at the numerous instances where serving policemen in various forces have bent the rules got caught out and been allowed to retire early on health grounds rather than face prosecution or disciplinary procedings. The guy last night got prosecuted because the forces Major Incident Team took over the investigation had it been his mates in CID I wonder if they would have taken a different approach to avoid being tarred with the same brush as he was one of their own!
In my view the "crocodile tears" weren't because he was sorry for what he did but because he got caught.
The sentence was a joke both the 18 mths and the 3 years it was increased to.
As the CID guy said "He's looking at 4 yrs for the blackmail. Add on the misconduct in a public office as an aggravating factor and he should have got between 5 and 6 years.
His defence team will have given the Judge "Well as a police officer he's going to have a hard time in jail" routine.
Well do what he would have known that and still took a chance. It's not Rocket Science THE LAW SHOULD BE THE SAME FOR EVERYONE.
As for Kirie ..she is what she is..enough said!

I think the vast majority of our police do do a good job and play it straight these days whereas you only have to go back to the 70's and 80's to find people used to regularly "take a fall" or "hit their head" getting into the paddy wagon and often for hardly doing anything wrong.

I do know the brother of a copper however and he says that the public would be horrified if they knew the extent of police corruption and internal investigations that go on.
His quote was that it's "rife" with things such as blackmail; protection money / debt collection; revenge punishment beatings on behalf of other criminals

Watched that Channel 4 programme last night "24 hours in Police Custody" featuring the famous/infamous  Kirie, a frequent visitor to these and other parts of the country.

My god, she does look rough as a badgers arse,  and the ring in the lip, makes it worse. Still she still seems to  pull in punters, so there is no accounting for taste!

How does her "business partner" get away without attracting attention from the Old Bill!

Saw the prog .. was all a bit close to home TBH.

Many years ago .. maybe 12-13 yrs .. I found myself in an eerily dark car park just off the A47 in Peterborough, within 3 miles of Thorpe Wood police station, late one night.
