Seeing other punters reviews.

I used to be able see other punters reviews for other WG that they have seen.
Now when I click I says ' only established members can see this content'

Can anyone help.. as I used to be able to see them.

Because of white-knight fluffies, pimps and prossies who spend every day stalking members and constantly viewing their profiles I decided to introduce that restriction.

I can't remember the minimum criteria and why your account no longer meets it, but I plan to offer ability to bypass these restrictions by completing SMS verification using a mobile SIM that is allowed to access adult services (i.e. adult-verified SIM cards and not disposable SIM cards). It'll cost me money per month as I pay for the SMS verification but worth it to reduce abuse. It would also apply to new members wanting PM facility. I am overloaded with work on all my sites so can't say when that will be brought in.

Yes agreed .. I liked it, because if I saw a review of WG local to me, by a punter I liked to see his other reviews as maybe he has seen other WG  locally I was thinking of seeing.

But I guess it keeps the rif-raf away. Good call in that respect..

I agree with the principle... it makes sense to have the restrictions in place, however sometimes it is just not possible to do 3 or 4 posts a day, especially when on holidays or abroad.

Good advice from everyone, just be a part of UKP and write some reviews and you should be fine. It's important that we keep the Whiteknights, pimps and fluffies away!

I might be missing something here, but how does SMS verification of phone numbers with approved Adult Content access work?

Pay As You Go phones can get approved for adult content in the same way as contract phones. By contacting your provider and giving them Credit Card details to verify. Or by going into the Network provider shop with suitable photo ID.

Does this mean that if UKP uses SMS verification it will be provided with that same ID data? My Credit Card or Photo ID details?

(I'm pretty sure that can't be the case. Otherwise, it surely would be some sort of breach of privacy. Probably the network simply states something like "Yes, the number owner is over 18 and we confirm they have provided sufficient proof.")

If the networks do give the additional details, that makes me nervous. My card number/photo ID, linked to my nickname, linked to my "confessional" posts? Really don't like the sound of that! Especially in the event of an Ashley Madison style hack. (Also has me trying to remember what other sites I've done SMS verification for)

If Admin don't get any extra details, how does that help UKP stop the stalker WK's, Pimps and SP's? Like most of us, they would be registered under a throw away PAYG SIM.

As far as I can tell it just stops the school kids getting access. Which is not a bad thing either.

Mobile networks don't give out such info, they just bar access / do not delivery txt messages. A bit like not being able to view porn or gambling sites from a SIM card that hasn't been approved for adult.

Okay, I assumed as much, but thanks for confirming 

I still don't see how this helps you deal with stalkers etc. Unless you can also ban the numbers used by trouble makers and assume they won't go to the hassle of getting new PAYG Sims.

I suppose, even if they do, it makes it harder for them. Deterring all but the most persistent trouble makers.

Thanks Admin.  I understand the need to encourage new membership and broaden participation.  The more clout UKP has the greater impact we can have on punters, WG’s and the market.  I have tried to reflect a slightly more measured tone with newbies in support.  This little bit of “stick” seems right for me - I hope it drives broader participation.
