I've not booked a Britannia hotel myself for a few years. When I did, I've always found to be expensive at the hotel itself. Cheapest prices via Central Reservations. Even if you rang them from the hotel lobby. You then pay at the hotel. I've always used card, but I guess you could pay with cash. Can't remember if the Central Resivation took my card details.

Pretty sure Macdonald Hotel doesn't require a keycard
