Author Topic: What's your PDC? (Punting Day Carry)  (Read 4428 times)

Offline JayEZ2K

Because of limited options where I live, punting tends to be an all day travel event. And because I'm traveling on foot and rail, I've needed to refine my PDC (Punting Day Carry) to be as small and as light as possible, while still having everything that I might need. So this is my current PDC which I hope helps others, and likewise, any feedback and ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure many of you have some great ideas.

Tablet (mini size): I use a tablet for a large view map, tube station map, and large screenshots with profile details and notes. And less essentially for games and other entertainment while traveling. The tablet is incredibly useful for this purpose, and the large view is easy to read for old eyes. The downside is that using the tablet on the go has been incredibly inconvenient due to its bulk, not fitting easily in pockets, and being time consuming to get out. I might replace this with a Phablet.

Punting phone: This is the essential punting phone for contacting WGs. Initially I used a cheap punting phone, but since upgraded to a cheap smart phone, hoping to replace the Tablet. But unfortunately the screen is too small for my eyes to use the map and read the AW profile and notes. As mentioned above, I might upgrade to a Phablet, which is of intermediate size between a phone and tablet, and can perform the functions of both. For more info on punting phones in general, search the forum for "punting phone".

Pre-paid Credit Card: From my reading, pre-paid credit cards can be used for point of sale purchases, cash out from the issuing bank's ATMs, and for online purchases. This is a backup for additional cash and purchases, and seems safer than a debit card if trying to remain totally incognito.

Cash: Just enough cash for the punt, possible extras, and a meal. Some coinage if visiting a Soho walkup, or for pay toilets if needed.

Oyster card/travel card: For transport on the Underground.

Punting Wallet (not shown): A thin, punting wallet to hold the cash, prepaid credit card, coins, and anything else. This punting wallet contains no IDs or personal info. This is another item for those trying to remain totally incognito.

Lightweight Hygiene Kit: Travel-size toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and interdental brush. Chapstick and breathmints. Handwipes. To reduce the size of the hygiene kit further, I might try teethwipes, but I don't know if they work adequately compared to brushing. (Also, I don't bring the whole roll of floss, just a couple strings.)

Pill box: Small pill box for Viagra/Cialis, and vitamins to replenish with the post-punt meal. I would like to find something with less chance of spilling, and less obvious as I take the Viagra en route on the tube. Too bad the pills don't fit in a Pez Dispensor, but they might fit special dispensing mint box.

Arginine and Citruline (AC) powder: I'm currently keeping these as dry powders in a small empty bottle, 1.5-3 grams each. Approximately 30 minutes before the punt I add water, shake to dissolve, and drink. Although the bottle is small, it's still annoying to carry, so I might try to make "AC sugar packets" to add to a small store bought drink.

Small water bottle: This is essential, but currently one of the more annoying things to carry. Any suggestions?

Punting watch: I've found a punting watch to be essential for easily keeping track of time, both while ensuring that I get to the punt and call on time, as well as to avoid being shorted time during the punt.

Headphones: For entertainment en route.

***** Thoughts *****
Carrying it all: Initially I used a courier bag to carry everything. But I would like to go even lighter, and especially bag-less. Maybe a small "murse" as an improvement, or a special travel jacket with loads of pockets. Any suggestions?

Re-charging on the go: Although rare, there are times when I've forgot to charge my devices. A powerbank is just way too heavy, especially if I don't need it. So what I might do is bring just the cable, and try to find somewhere with a USB outlet, being careful to avoid "juice jacking"/data theft/malware outlets. Anyone know of general places or ways to charge devices on the go?

Others: Better way to carry pills? Better way to carry water?

So that's my PDC as it currently stands. Although it seems a bit obsessive, these items are either essential or very important. Forgetting any component is at least a major annoyance, and at worst catastrophic to the punt. Likewise, I've found that carrying and fumbling through unnecessary items is also an annoyance. So I would like to continue to refine my PDC over time, and get ideas and input from others. So, what's your PDC?

That seems a lot. I bet you're a nightmare packing for a holiday :D

Me - cash, usual wallet (have to remember sometimes which cash is punting cash, and which cash isn't). Keep mints in my car as well as condoms. That's  it. Punting card is in the usual wallet. Don't have a punting phone, just clear my phone history afterwards and ensure all social media privacy settings are tight enough that people can't find me on Facebook / Twitter by my number. So really, in addition to the usual 4 things I carry everywhere (phone, wallet, keys, car keys) it's just 2 condoms (not in the packet) and some mints / gum. My phone serves as a navigation if I need it

Offline jabbawokez

Oyster, cash punting phone. No need to move about when you're on London.

Where do you buy pre paid cards from?

You forgot your ballistic plate, field dressings, primary sidearm (.45 HK) + 4 mags, backup (9mm Glock compact) + 2 mags, k-bar, belt-clip stabbing blades and a compass.

Get a smaller powerbank with less charge capacity as they are much lighter  :hi:

Having no worries about discretion and not having had a bad experience where someone lifted my wallet or the contents.

I go as I am. Normally with a small bag with mouthwash.

I need to get a seperate punting wallet, and am considering a punting phone.

+1 its not a two week holiday.

This is like a military operation!!! I make sure I take off my watch and chain, only carry the exact money (no wallet), my punting phone and my car key. Travel light with no incriminating ID in case she’s nosey, nothing valuable in case she’s a thief.

Totally agree.

I also hide the rest in the car before getting to the WG's area.  So, when I get there, its quick (and non-attention giving) to park up somewhat away from her house, and walk the last hundred yards.  This reduces the chance of some scam involving the car, and if it does get broken into, less chance of anything desirable being nicked.

On the subject of parking the car, always facing in the direction of exit, and without having to pass the house when leaving the area.  If she says a specific place, never park there!  There may be a 'welcome committee' waiting, or she might just be clocking your number from her window.

Same here. The OP sounds like he’s going on a SAS mission.

Offline peter.witless

I take cash, phone, car keys, comb & chewing gum.

Everything else is in the boot of my car. I generally park a few 100 metres away, of if I'm very early, in covered parking nearby and while away waiting time in a coffee shop checking out the young mommies.

Offline Herts_Outcaller

I carry £50 more than the exact money, sometimes more, in case one of the things I want is "extra" or in case there's a duo option or an option of anal

Offline tynetunnel

Why do you need a “punting watch” as opposed to just a watch?  :unknown:

And what are AC powders and why?

Offline CheeseBoard

Perhaps a couple of condom as well.

Offline Bangers and Gash

I usually take a roll of duck tape and a length of nylon rope.

Don't ask.  :D

My punts are mostly after work and I travel by Train/Tube/Bus. I usually go with my IDs, wallet, debit/credit cards, personal smartphone with punting SIM card and my work laptop.
I carry these things every day and I can't avoid them during punt.  :(

LOL...the replies are golden.

Yeah too much crap being carried, OP..its only a paid fuck, for fucks sake.   I carry the exact amount of cash+40, only my punting phone and pop a chewing gum in before leaving for the punt.

My punting phone is a cheap old model Iphone (with a fake apple id), only has numbers of 2-3 prossies max at any time, an app called citymapper, whatsapp and google maps. And one credit card in the iphone wallet to pay contactless on the tube.

Offline RegionalAndy

I drive to punts, I only leave with the exact amount + £20 extra and have mouthwash to swig in the glove box. I always leave my smart phone.

When i have a shower after ... I then brush my wet hair ... actually puzzled that no-one thought this obvious.

Pack of extra strong mints, burner phone, iPhone, Wallet and Car Keys.

I often punt after work so I reckon safer to have Wallet, iPhone on me than in my Car.

I used to leave the iPhone in the car until I couldn’t find an SP location one day and ended up running back to the car to get directions. Ended up late and a sweaty mess, before I intentionally became a sweaty mess.

If driving: money, phone and card keys. Everything else stays in car.

However travelling on public transport: money, card, phone and house keys.

Very organised OP. I' don't quite take everything you've mentioned but things I would add.

- Condoms: I bring my own fitted condoms. They're more comfortable if the WG will let me use them (sometimes they don't trust brought in condoms, even in a fresh packet). Also, in case they run out, it's rare but it happens.

- Travel Size Hair Gel: After a an energetic 2 hour punt I'm very sweaty, including my hair. So usually freshen up in the shower and use hair gel to neaten up my appearance so I don't feel like everyone can see I've just had a great fuck session. Actually, I'm always forgetting to bring this, but it's an essential especially for a daytime punt with meetings to attend later.

- Video Cameras: A small POV camera and sometimes a small/light handheld. Plus, charging cables and a small power pack (the POV has a shit battery life, need to upgrade it). Even if the WG has not included filming in pre agree'd services sometimes they can be charmed into it  ;)

- Face Masks: I've had WG's say "I forgot to say I only allow filming with a mask, but I can't find mine. I'm so sorry." If I'm carry these the punt isn't ruined, "No problem. Use one of mine.".

- A Bag: It's not actually a huge amount to carry about, but a bag does make it easier especially if I travel by TFL. Usually a satchel or laptop bag (without the laptop) or a small back pack. Also, if I want a drink on the punt it feels less conspicuous than a plastic carrier bag which is clearly only holding 1 bottle of wine. Especially walking through a hotel lobby or into a block of flats (where the neighbours are probably aware of the WG).

Might seem like over kill, but if I'm spending atleast £200 I prefer to be prepared. Must admit, I'd be very red faced if for some reason I was pulled up on a stop and search.

Not sure about carrying a "murse".... you may get attacked in a hate crime incident? Try one of those beige or stone coloured sleeveless jackets with loads of pockets: stylish AND functional AND comfy!

Online Steely Dan

In my normal manbag, I have a punting pocket.  It has various stuff such as condoms, cash and a ... nail clipper.  I like a finger in a pussy, and having neatly trimmed nails seems to help.

Anyway, I have no criticism with OP's list. If not punting from car, it is a struggle.  Everything needs to be in the flat with you. Taking too much can be a worry.  But I am way less organised - I end up with too much at times.  My real wallet is in my bag for example.  Might go wrong someday, but so far so good.  Not a risk free hobby.
