I see this word thrown around allot these days on AW many claim to be pornstars just because they have clips on the internet.

When would someone qualify as a pornstar? The only one on AW in my opinion that is a true porn star at the moment is Rebecca More. The rest may have filmed content online but are just porn actresses they don't have the calibre to be considered a "Star" like Phoenix Marie or Sheena Shaw those are true gems that will probably never ever need to escort sadly for us punters

But would you not agree that the vast majority that make the claim don't actually warrant the title?

It's a great marketing tool, they might say In their profile "Pornstar" or PSE, yes some claim to be Pornstars, after they've shot a couple of amateur scenes, a great example of a original hooker marketing herself as a Pornstar Is Ava Koxxx, when she worked for many years at Sandys Superstars as Dominique and changed her name to Taylah.

I think being featured in avn magazine is the requirement to call yourself a pornstar which rules out 99% of the AW bullshitters.

As far as I'm concerned you're a pornstar if you've been in mainstream porn. I think it gets silly trying to separate them into real "stars" and just actresses. If you've had a contract from a big studio, done big DVD releases or just done a few scenes for Killergram & Brazzers it makes no difference.

Given that the criteria required to make a "porn movie" nowadays are a. an iphone and b. an internet connection, and the criteria to 'star' in one are a. have a vagina and b. be willing to be videod getting fucked, it's not quite the impressive qualification it once was.
