Author Topic: Tip for iOS users travelling abroad  (Read 497 times)

Google Chrome provides instant translation of web pages (handy for guides inc punting guides abroad) but annoyingly the iOS default for iPhone users is Safari, which doesn’t. So even if you follow a link from Google Maps to find more about a facility, you can end up with Safari in a foreign language.

Get round it by first adding Bing from the iOS App Store (You won’t need to use Bing: this is a quick workaround using one of its features).

Then adjust the Safari share menu (box with an upward arrow) and scroll along to “more” to find Bing and slide it up to the first few displayed widgets. When you want a page translated in Safari, just click the share button and Bing translate.

EasyPeasy!
