So I have recently returned from my trip to Japan I dont go their exclusively to punt but its deffinitley on the itinerary when i am there
. There are sites for punting in tokyo if you are to find them but this site has been so helpful to me I thought I would share some of my knowledge and help guide you through the mine field incase you end up in that part of the world.

There are three kinds of soaplands the one who do not let foreigners in, ones that will if you speak conversational Japanese(or atleast can give the impression you can) and ones that understand the langauge of capitalism. It will be pretty obvious where you are welcome as the door man will be waving you in but it doesn't hurt to try to go in somewhere you like the look of you will either get flat out refused or have to pass a langauge test by making abit of small talk in japanese with the door man. I've read the weekends and busy times of the year like christmas are a no go for foriengers also so try to go in the week if possible. My impression is its not that they don't like foreigners its more they don't like dealing with the langauge barrier and would rather deal with natives, which i can understand.

They then show you with set of A5 pictures of all the ladies working today you will then be shown who available and will presumabley see foreigners and asked to pick one, some places seem to charge more for foreigners but the most i paid was like 31000 JPY for 2 hours which was about £210 which is less than the going rate for most girls I've seen in the UK.
The general etiquette is once your in your will be shown to a waiting room. Theres usually some other punters burried in there phones waiting which would normally be a big no no to me but i value my privacy less abroad i guess. you are encouraged to clip your nails(

Some places seem to have a one pop rule regardless of how long you have so its worth asking and if you dont get a clear answer probably not worth doing more than an hour. Despite the minefield its deffinitley worth the experience particularly if you can get some genuine nuru nuru and then blow your load by some cute japanese girl in her early/mid twenties.
