An unusual protest is set to take place in Tel Aviv on Thursday  3 May 2018: The participants are all strippers, but contrary to what they do in their profession, the women will all be hiding their identities and not exposing themselves. They won’t shout with megaphones so as to keep from being identified by their voices, and they’ll wear masks and wigs to keep their faces hidden.

The women intend to protest a new bill being advanced by MK Michal Rozin (Meretz) that would put stripping on a legal par with prostitution. Prostitution is not banned in Israel, nor is the use of its services, but if the legislation passes, it would ban the possession of a location where prostitution or stripping occurs, as well as ban advertising and lobbying for stripping, which are not currently prohibited.

Good luck to them but they'll need some male voices behind the scenes to have any clout.  Women generally are second class citizens in Israel, innpractice, not much better off than in a Muslim country.

Israel Targets the Sex Industry: Moving to Ban Internet Ads, Fine the Johns and Close Websites
While making enforcement more feasible, state asks court to block five internet sites, including a site on which johns rate and review prostitutes

Israel is taking aim at the sex industry. Through prostitution itself is not illegal in Israel, various aspects involved in it are, and the latest bill will fine customers caught with prostitutes 1,500 shekels, Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked said on Wednesday, the day after a proposal to ban online advertising ads for prostitution.

The state is petitioning the courts to remove five Israeli prostitution websites from the internet, including Sex Adir, one of the biggest of its kind.

So in effect Israel is introducing a sex buyer law along the Swedish lines.
The anti sex authoritarians are on the march everywhere it seems.

Lol ironic.
Jesus's (king of the jews)mother was a prostitute,  good old Mary.
Wonder if they can come over before brexit and claim a skilled work role.  :yahoo:

Lol ironic.

:)
It's ironic that a lot of porn stars are jewish and also jews were blamed for a lot of prostitution in many countries contributing to the extreme policies we all know about.  Not ironic about the potentially very offensive remark to Christians (and Muslims) you made.  Not preaching here, just keen to see non-toxic discussions - we already scare off a lot of reviewers on pimping/trolling/white-knight suspicions.

It wasn't a toxic comment.

Or wasn't she a wg?
I was christened and am a Christian,  not practising.
Always open to learning.

What is your source for this? Never heard it claimed before. Are you confusing her with Mary Magdalen, said by many to have been one (although this is disputed).

On the other hand "Rahab the Harlot" features in the gospel genealogies (x begat y and so on) from Old Testament times.  :hi:

You are right I was referring to Magdalene.

My fault and I will scurry off and learn to check before I post.
I blame my ignorance and certainly refreshed my memory on who is who.
Apologies to all.  :(

Countries seem to have an increasing addiction to cock blocking. Nasty authoritarian controlling behaviour.
