This is going to sound so daft. But as I’ve just watched MOTD and in particular, saw the West Brom V Newcastle game. I had to pour myself a large scotch to cheer myself up.
Anyway.
For some strange reason, shoes popped into my head.

Those places you go where the SP asks you to take your footwear off before your allowed upstairs or inside.
I recall a visit up North and popped into the Gemini massage place in Gateshead.
I had been before but always through the shop entrance. On this occasion I had been told to go to the door next to the shop. Nice girl asked me to remove my shoes before going up the stairs to the massage room.
I looked down at a pair of the grottiest trainers already there and said to the girl,
“I’ll take mine off love, but I’m bringing them with me upstairs”
We had a laugh about it but I must admit. The thought someone might just put my quiet expensive pair of desert boots on and walk off did cross my mind.  :D :D :D

It is a common practice in Asian homes, and I've noted all the Chinese escorts, massage parlours ask you to do it..

Also stops scamming punters or robbers trying to do a runner.

Common practice in Thai massage parlours to leave your shoes off before you go into the room.  :hi:

I automatically do it  and always  have done. I dont enter my own home with my shoes on, so im nit going to do it to someone elses.

+1 but with a caveat on the state of the flooring!

I've walked into some places that I've felt the need to clean my shoes after the visit!

I will always take my shoes off as soon as I enter someone's home, and that also applies to an escort's hotel rooms/flats/whatever. However, I will carry them to the bedroom if I think that there might be other people on the premises. I also find that they are the best place to put items I don't need, but mustn't forget when I go, such as watch, phone, glasses, keys, etc.

I think this is just upbringing and the Norwegian part of my background where people in rural areas will even take their shoes off before entering shops, etc. (don't tread the snow in).

Offline davidgood

I have found that EE SPs, especially Hungarian, like you take your shoes off at the door.

A place I went to once in South Harrow asked me to put my shoes on a rack in the hallway.  The only other shoes on there were a lot lot bigger than mine.  I wondered at the time whether this was to warn patrons that the owner of them was around to "sort out" any troublemakers.  Come to think of it, this was a Hungarian establishment, bearing out DG's comment.

I have also seen that and wondered just how many people live in the bloody place  :D

Also as Signy states. I have gotten into the habit of putting my watch, specs into my shoes nowadays.
Yes I did forget my watch once on the way out. Thankfully a rather well brought up SP sent me a text notifying me and I collected it later.

Now of course I just end up putting my foot into a shoe and smash my glasses but thats another story.

My fave woman who is of Chinese descent has never asked me to take my shoes off although if its been raining I do this anyway. In fact my shoes and the rest rarely has much time to remain on anyway. :)
It is a courtesy to remove shoes and it's a very practical way of showing respect - which I strive always to do - except of course when I say "with the greatest respect".

I have a no shoes policy in my home, I'll make some exceptions. I've got no problem taking off my shoes when going to see a wg. Once I saw a girl who insisted I leave them downstairs, a bit of paranoia set in and the fact I had fancy trainers I wasn't comfortable leaving them out my site so I told the wg I'll place them on my jacket in the bedroom which she was fine with.

Offline Bum Lovin Criminal

I always ask automatically if I'm in a Chinese set up.. it's usually a polite 'yes please'.

Also if the gaff is quite nice I always ask.

True,  but they are often in charge of keeping the place clean and tidy, and i just think its best not to make footprints or the like. A: She is likely to be pissed off, and B: leave the place as you found it for others!

Offline Thephoenix

If someone asked me to remove shoes on entering their premises I would oblige.
However, unless they were wearing excessively muddy shoes, I wouldn't be so rude as to ask visitors or guests to remove theirs.

Why?......Simply because I was brought up in the days of lino, woodblock, quarry tiles, rugs etc, when homes were warm and welcoming. No-one sat or laid down on the floor That was for walking on, and could easily be cleaned. Even fitted carpets for those that could afford them were dark coloured or with pattern which wouldn't show minor stains, and would last for years.

They weren't pristine show houses with ridiculous cream coloured carpets and furniture, with owners desperate to keep up with the Jones's, or follow the latest 'must have' trend in the TV adverts or glossy magazine.

Just saying...😏
Rant over!

Offline Stevelondon

Your right Thephoenix.
I had almost forgotten about lino and those patterned carpets.
Mind you. I am old enough to recall proggy mats......... yes we were poor but happy.

I'm always wary when asked to leave my shoes at the door of any brothel or massage bird.  Chinese WGs and SPs in particular want you to leave them at the door.

You're in a room with them out of sight - other people living in the flat, other punters let in and out by a maid?

I'm often in trainers which can't be bought again as they're rare, the OH would notice if they suddenly disappeared.

How on earth would you get home without footwear should you lose them.  No thanks.

I tend to scoop them up and agree to wrap them in an item of clothing in the room.  I've been told a couple of times that's no go, so I've left.

Never thought of this as a problem. I have visited Thai massage parlours many times and you are always asked to remove your shoes and leave them outside the room this is common courtesy, even when visiting a Thai persons house by refusing to do so shows a lack of respect and carrying them into the room wrapped up in clothing shows a lack of trust. I am more worried about them seeing holes in my socks than having my trainers pinched  :D. Why not wear cheap trainers when you go punting to these places  :unknown: ( then again I have never paid more than £45 for a pair of trainers in my life)

Some of it is cultural, some of it to stop you running off 😅

Only seem the Thais ever provide slippers though (guess more 'legit' massage set up)

I once had a pair of nice, if well loved, pair of leather boots stolen from my locker at work though. Nothing else. Very odd, had to drive home in some mankey trainers from the communal pile. That was an interesting conversation to be had!

I recently visited a Brazilian woman's home for a, umm, massage.  There were multiple people in the living room including at least one male.  Why would I leave my possessions outside of the room?

Equally in places where there are more than one punter in the flat being seen to, it poses a certain risk if for whatever reason they decide to be a funny cunt when they leave.  Nothing's never happened to me but I just consider it as keeping my wits about me during punts.

That’s why always bring a bag with me, so I can put in my Trainers into my bag. I would get very Paranoid if it’s out of site. Plus my trainers are Expensive.

Watch out if the SP has a dog in the house. Mate of mine had his shoes pissed in by a Jack Russell that belonged to the SP.

Some WGs work from their home, are houseproud and don't want you leaving footprints all over the shag pile carpet.

I don't see this as a problem - you can always bring them with you into the room.

It's a common practice in MANY countries, not just in Asia. And in those countries where it's practiced is very, very unpolite not to take off your shoes. Considered as a lack of respect for the host.

As I recall, the wonderful Stacy Nice Summer, currently the subject of another thread in this forum, who at the time was working from a terraced house in Wimbledon, asked me to take my shoes off at the foot of the stairs before going up to her bedroom. Happy days  . . .

I get it totally. Honestly I wouldn't let anyone inside my house if they refused to remove their shoes with which they have walked all over the town's gobbing and shit and stood in the piss around a pub urinal.

I had an SP ask me for my work 🥾 🥾   😂 it was a cheeky punt on the way home and I had my size 12 working boots on they were well used steel toe caps worn through covered in cement, I asked her why and she said she wanted to leave them visible for punters to see when they arrived so it looked like some builder built like a proverbial 🧱  💩 🏡 was in the place and give them second thoughts about any funny business 😂

I have been told to take my shoes off as there was escort working behind a curtain.

The apartment had a wooden floor and my escort didn’t want to interrupt their booking. Looking at the size of the boots outside the curtains, I would take my socks off as well!
