Hi All,

I am planning a solo trip to Lebanon and was wondering if anyone got advice on massage parlours, escorts or generally what the scene is like there. I did try and have a look at previous posts but i cant seem to find anything or if i have missed it please may you point me in the right direction.

Also i have posted in Asia because i dont think Lebanon falls under Europe or Africa but im not sure if its really Asia either out if all the categories.

I think i am right in saying that Lebanon is officially in (western) Asia - so you have posted on the right board.

I hope you are a well seasoned traveler to "out of the way" places .  I have never been but i did have a Lebanese SB for nearly a year (here in the UK) and she said that most of the time it was ok but sometimes men would just go out into the street and start shooting at each other (and anyone else that was around) for no obvious or particular reason. And this was more northern Lebanon, away from Beirut and the well known hot spots.  So just be aware - and depending on your nationality and ethnic background, they don't like their women going with any guys let alone foreigners.

However there maybe massage and other places where non Lebanese ladies provide services - i don't know. I think you have done the right think to ask here for any recent experience/knowledge. I think if i was going, I would also go to a Lebanese restaurant here and try to chat to some of the waiters and staff. They can be a valuable source of information - especially after a good tip!!

I was in Beirut a couple of weeks ago and contacted a couple off of Massage Republic.  I may still have numbers.  Turns out these were effectively pimps who then sent a photo catalog.  I made two choices and both were early 20's arab girls.  One was hopeless - allowed nothing except instant fucking, and as an old guy I need to get warmed up a bit!  The second was a little better, but still not great.  $100 an hour each.

One interesting note is that they come to your hotel, register at the front desk, and are then given a card for the elevator.  No walk of shame as they fill out the paperwork. 

All in all, not a great location for me at least.

In US $? Yes.  Their own money is poison to them even, and a lot of places prices in $ and then quote in LBP dependent on the exchange rate that day.  And ignore the official rate - I handed over US$100 and got about 3 million LBP back.

Seems quiet now - in four days I only saw army outside of government installations, and the police (on Harleys!) when there was a wreck outside of my hotel.  No traffic lights, no street lights and you need to eat and stay at places that have their own generators.  TBH, it reminded me of Naples a bit.

I heard about avoiding the official rate and using the black market exchange rate to get most of the LBP.

Do you think its better to just try speaking to locals and maybe going on a date with a possibility of getting laid? I heard they are open minded. $100 an hour seems like UK prices.
