Author Topic: The mystery of the missing prossie and how to identify her . . .  (Read 3803 times)

Offline Marmalade

We've probably all come across this - a profile disappears and it is annoying trying to be clear who the prossie in question is, especially if we want to warn other punters when she re-appears with a new identity.

So this occurs to me . . .:

Pictures that linger . . .

On this page:
https://www.ukpunting.com/index.php?topic=6898.0
When you click the photo, in most cases it (takes you to the profile or) tells you that so-and-so is no longer active. Only on the last example does it say the page no longer exists.

On this page:
Although Lanya is active again, she has a totally new profile. Everything that was previously there on her old one is gone . . . except the photo link still works.

What often happens is that once a profile goes down, if a girl turns up with a totally new profile address, it is harder to identify her. In some cases (such as the one mentioned above), the prossie actually wants people to know who she is/was. In other cases, a scammer or someone providing shit service just tries again after being exposed as a bad choice.

(Some more techy members may feel like adding some more advice on this subject (but see also (b) below).

Two ideas:

a) Perhaps it is worth posting photo-links with reviews (it doesn't take long, right click a picture and copy the link, paste it in between the "img" tags you get from the UKP icon.
b) It would be good to know how to access "hidden" stuff on AW generally. If anyone has some useful techniques, perhaps you could PM me (or other established members - no point in giving out everything we know to AW as they don't always agree with our 'priorities' lol)

Cheers  :drinks:

*I raised this idea here https://www.ukpunting.com/index.php?topic=22752.msg442728#msg442728 and also mentioned this fro newbies in case it helps:
If you add a photo and it's the size of a field, you can reduce it by adding a width command. e.g. instead of posting just the img tag as it appears when you click the image icon when making a UKP post, just add "width=400" (or any other size you want) to the first tag to replace "img". (Unless you want to show the photoshopped or crinkly-skin details she's been dumb enough to show by using a high definition image.)

Can someone explain how to upload pics on iPad?

Many thanks.

Online wristjob

Is this because it's one of her main page profile pics & she isn't deleting the old profile, just changing the name (so it's basically the 7 digit no) ?

Tips:

When looking at galleries look at sequential numbers and sometimes you can find pictures between the ones shown. EG this girl:

External Link/Members Only

Jumps from
External Link/Members Only
to
External Link/Members Only

so this pic is her but not in the gallery:

Hidden Image/Members Only

Sometimes worth it and prob not a lot AW can do.

Also I have a way of getting all the gallery pictures in one go but won't work on windows and is fiddly. if someone has a mac and is quite techy (needs command shell) and wants to try PM me please

Follow the instructions from NightKid and Skittish:

NightKid:

If you have her .jpg pic, do the following:

1) Upload the image to an image hosting site e.g. imgur, imageshack, tinypic
2) Generate a link after you've finished uploading. It should be something like this (http:/www.your_image_host.com/your_image.jpg)
3) Copy that link and paste it in a new reply here, then highlight it and click on the Insert Image button below the Bold text button (the button with the bold, capital B)

Skittish:

To simplify it if you still don't understand.

Goto External Link/Members Only

Hidden Image/Members Only

Click the browse button, select the image from the pop up screen of your files, click open. Then click upload it.
Your image will appear on a new page as a thumbnail. Scroll down page until you see this form.

Hidden Image/Members Only

Click the button I have highlighted. Go to UKP and paste (ctrl+v). You're done.  :hi:

An easy way for Adultwork profiles is to take a screen shot, also works for pics

when you have the page or pic open click on "Print Screen" button on keyboard ( just above the backspace button)

Open "paint " and use control+V

save the page or pic to desktop then use imagur or similar

The basic questions are still there and there must be some ways to access more than is readily seen or simply get more of a hang of the system.

So here's something . . .

The basic profile picture has a useless javascript link but once you click it you get a real link

For instance (an excellent punt that I've just reviewed) :
The profile External Link/Members Only
Has a profile picture address of External Link/Members Only

But when you go into the Free Gallery the numbering system changes, losing the profile page number:
External Link/Members Only+
With a thumbnail of:
External Link/Members Only

Applying this to a problem profile that has given a number of punters cause for concern:
(see https://www.ukpunting.com/index.php?topic=29962.0)
External Link/Members Only was the original link posted for the profile, which disappeared very soon afterwards.
(The link would be more concisely expressed as External Link/Members Only but the OP was a newbie.)
Applying the above formula, I tried External Link/Members Only
Which works.
Hidden Image/Members Only

This is the exact same image (but a larger, original version) that was eventually discovered by an eagle-eyed punter on the woman's completely new profile
External Link/Members Only
On the new profile, the photo (smaller version) has a number matching the new profile.

Interesting. it suggests when you delete a profile it doesn't actually delete it, which is how they use it to find other girls in your area.

This is interesting, if you view the source of the 2nd profile (2499305) right near the top you get this which is for the 3 main page images:

function viewImage() {
    if(bLT) { dC(2499305); return }
   switch (currentImage) {
      case 1: sImage = ''; sDescription = ''; break;
      case 2: sImage = '2499305%5F2%2Ejpg'; sDescription = '294498%5F296745787018841%5F735326412%5Fn%2Ejpg'; break;
      case 3: sImage = '2499305%5F3%2Ejpg'; sDescription = '2275328%5F1%2Ejpg'; break;
   }
   var sURL = 'External Link/Members Only' + sImage + '&Description=' + sDescription; var imageWin = window.open(sURL, 'imageWin', 'height=300,width=300,scrollbars=1,resizable=1')
}

"%5F" is "_" so the bit I have hilighted points back to her old profile number!

Presumably it would be able to find other girls previous profiles this way on occasion.

Wristjob, hats off, you are going deeper.  :drinks:

It's a good idea Marmalade.

It will also help identify scam profiles, reverse image searches are now returning more and more hits back to UKP, almost always with a photo previously used in a fake profile being used in a new profile - new name, new number and so on.

When the girl deletes her profile. I.E. When they go on holiday or whatever

I think when they return they can re-activate it so it must still be on Adultwork somewhere

Haven't got time to look into it further just now, but the coding wristjob points out seems easier to find on Chrome than Firefox...

              <td height="75" valign="top" align="center"><table border=0 cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0><tr><td align=center><a href="javascript:switchImage(2, '2499305%5F2%2Ejpg','294498%5F296745787018841%5F735326412%5Fn%2Ejpg')"><img src="External Link/Members Only" border="0" class="Border" alt="294498_296745787018841_735326412_n.jpg"></a></td><td>&nbsp;&nbsp;</td><td align=center><a href="javascript:switchImage(3, '2499305%5F3%2Ejpg','2275328%5F1%2Ejpg')"><img src="External Link/Members Only" border="0" class="Border" alt="2275328_1.jpg"></a></td></tr></table></td>

And it's easier of course if you (from the profile)
1) click on the image first to get full size pop-out window
2) Go to Menu View>Developer>View Source (may vary depending on your version of Chrome)
3) search (alt+F or however you search within a page) for the current profile number
4) look for next 7-digit number, which should correspond to the original (defunct) profile link.

  <p align="center"><img name="TheImage" border="0" src="External Link/Members Only" class="Border" onload="resizeMe()"><br>2275328_1.jpg</p>

Still quite fiddly though. Ok for an attempt to I.D. more serious instances like a scammer, but it would be cool if someone can invent a one-click way. And we still need the original link. Links disappear from hotlists when they are deactivated or deleted, so another reason why it is important to put a link with a review on UKP. (Adding a picture helps as well! - right cllick on picture, copy the link, paste it between the img tags on your UKP review by clicking the photo icon underneath where it reminds you to add a link!)
