Author Topic: Deleting adultwork profile and removing all details.  (Read 7855 times)

Offline Lalalaveets

I’ve searched on this site and found a few threads related to this topic. However it seems AdultWork has changed some features. The steps/instructions that worked for other for deleting AW profile doesn’t work anymore as the ‘remove me’ button has disappeared from what I can see. Does anyone know how to successfully delete your profile?

Before everyone asks. I want to delete my profile to take a long break from punting. Personal reasons and a different subject for another thread.

Why?? are you a service provider.   :unknown:

Edit

The ‘remove me’ button is still there if you look.   :unknown:  It's even in red.

What puzzles me slightly here, if totally removing a "Seeking Services" profile is no longer an option, is what generates Member Not Active – instead of the punter's nickname – on girls' feedback lists (including very recently)?  Or are these punters removed from the site by AW because they've turned out to be wrong 'uns?

However, Lalalaveets, it is worth pointing out that any "Seeking Services" profile is always invisible to anyone except escorts to whom you have sent messages – and in practice it is probable that not many escorts ever bother to click to view punters' profiles, since the information contained there often amounts to little more than the punter's (supposed) age.

As long as no-one discovers your password, the existence of your profile is and always will be in all other respects a secret between you and your Maker.  And he has bigger fish to fry.

If you want to muddy the waters further, you could if you wished go to Registration & Regional Details and change your nickname, your e-mail address and your country of residence – although escorts to whom you have sent messages in the past will still be able to view your profile.  But why should they bother?

Thanks Vice. I’ve tried the old “Registration & Regional Details” route but AW has changed things around. It seems they’ve stopped all account deletions and now everyone is a permanent member.

In simple terms, NO!!

You cannot delete your AW account.

It’s ridiculous that they’ve changed this feature on AW. Slightly worrying what the spiv scumbag AW owners are up to

To be honest I don't think there is anything worrying about this for any law-abiding citizen.  Also, as I pointed out in my post above, the trace left by a dormant profile is negligible.

I suppose it is just conceivable that AW's not allowing total deletion of profiles is something to do with there needing to be a trail in case a punter is accused of murder or a serious sexual offence.  But even that I rather doubt.

Offline Vice Admiral

As Lalalaveets has pointed out, Adult Work still has instructions for profile removal, as follows:
"Visit your My Details Page and click the 'Remove Me' button within the Registration and Regional Details area.  Within one month of removing your account you will be able to reactivate it via the Reactivate Me page, linked to on the Login page.  Please note: After one month of removing your account you will not be able to reactivate it."

However, like Lalalaveets, I can see no sign of the "Remove Me" button in the relevant place on my profile.

I have recently returned after a long break from punting and AW had de-activated / removed my account for me, presumably due to a long period of inactivity ? Couldn't re-activate it either.

Online hungrypunt

Id think due to new GDPR regs they have to allow deletion .

Not sure where everyone else is looking but I can delete my account, if I click the link it asks if I'm sure though I didn't continue from there.

What a delightful cunt you happen to be. Shouldnt you be looking for WGs that look like your kids you nonce, instead of gracing us with such useful contributions.

The solution:
Ive figured out that if you double click on 'My details' at the top bar and then the plus(+) symbol next to 'regional details', the remove me button can be found. Avoid the drop down menu then 'regional details', which has the same title but is a different page.

Its not surprising that AW purposely makes this a difficult process to keep the member count high. To leave wanky comments instead of describing how you solved the issue isnt clever, its pathetic and ruins this forum. There have been many occasions when i didnt review or contribute specifically due to the high number of loosers on this site, our kilt wearing tight arse tatty eating nonce is a perfect example of such a member.

At least now if someone needs to know how to delete their profile there is a recent post to help.

I still don’t get why someone needs to totally remove an AW account. Maybe a sedative to allay paranoia might help.

p.s. you can also register (or used to) as offering services but not offering any. A way to get round certain hurdles.

You’ve had plenty of sensible input. Your long and scathing remarks on punters who wind you up with small one-liners is unjustified, as is your claimed reason for not posting reviews. Your question was unusual and with little obvious justification, so expect some cage rattling. And as has been pointed out, if you think AW is going to delete you from every shred of their servers after you have ‘deleted’ your profile, you probably, as we say in Scotland, came up the Clyde in a banana boat.

Offline Marmalade

Because i choose to.

That’s fine for you.

But for serious answers some explanation of exactly what it is you are trying to protect would be efficient. Hence my previous post about servers. And when you show an unsympathetic attitude to UKP in general you are hardly encouraging effort on the part of those knowledgeable to assist.

My sincerest and deepest apology for not giving you justification for what i plan on doing. I will ensure to let you know of every reason for all my intentions in future as you clearly need to and entitled to know.

And next time i need data protection advise regarding AW databases id certainly make sure to ask for your highly informed consultation. Clearly someone with 10,000 useless opinionated posts and a few hundred useful ones has done so much for us all, and i will never again utter the words "not this twat again" when i scroll and see your avatar on a thread before skipping the predictable, tedious long winded personal views of a zero. Never again, i promise my good friend.

For now, ive got a banana boat to catch. Happy punting.

This is very curious.

When I go to the Registration & Regional Details page on my AW account, I get not what others are reporting (and screen-shotting) – but this:
"Use this page to update your registration details and regional settings.  If you change your email address you will be required to re-verify it and will lose access to the site until you have done so. To set your preferred currency and time zone, or to futher [sic] define your location, click the Regional Settings button."

I can see no sign of a "Remove Me" button.

Could it be that smart-phone users are getting something different from what desktop users such as me are seeing?

Don't know about the mobile version but I'm led to believe you can still use the desktop version on a phone. If you still can't find it follow the instructions below.

Main page - Help
Help - Site map
Site map - Help , all articles
Top of the list - 'View   How do I remove myself from this website? Can I reactivate?'
Click 'view' and follow the instructions.

It really isn't that difficult.

That's because you're on the wrong page. You need to be on the "My details" page.
Then you click the plus sign by "Registration & Regional Details"

Many thanks, daviemac and Rochelle!

While I am always more than ready (and indeed on an increasing basis) to admit to brain non-functionality, I think there is some mitigation in that two different routes from the same starting point  – My Details / Registration Details / Registration & Regional Details and My Details / General Settings / Registration & Regional Details – take one to different Registration & Regional Details pages, one of which offers a removal option and one of which doesn't!

Offline Vice Admiral

Incidentally I'm not trying to remove myself from AW.  Perish the thought!  It's just a process of intellectual inquiry...

No. It's quite simple. Two different pages. Registration and Regional details is this page. That's why you didn't see the option...wrong page.

Well it looks like it'll be a long break from punting, and an eternal break from UKP. Still, at least he got all his bile out before he got booted into the ether.

As for the different subject for another thread, that shall have to remain a sweet little mystery, as Scotland's finest chicken-in-a-basket-circuit band once opined.

Trouble is the 'right' page can be difficult to find, with a SS's account there's no direct link to the correct 'my details' page, that's why posted the 'help' route.    :hi:

All of the above is correct yet confusing as you end up at the same screen without the option to delete profile.

If you go across to MyDetails and select from the drop down menu you Don't get the option.

If you go across to MyDetails and click on My Details, this opens another screen, if you then click on Registration and Regional Details it opens up and gives you the options, and it Will work

The difference and issues is the way you access, i.e. by selecting drop down and / or Registration and Regional Details from the menu at the tip it won't work.

If you click on My Details and then follow it will work.
