Sorry if something like this has come up before but could do with your thoughts.

I'm new to the site and in my enthusiasm to sign up, and not thinking it through, opted for the same username here as my one on Adultwork.

Does anyone else have the same usernames?

Are there any advantages / disadvantages? I can already see reviews being a potential issue.

I have a completely different username on AW to here, that was the advice I got when I joined here. You can request a username change on UKP via your profile —-> modify profile settings. I believe it is at management discretion

Having different user names is a basic rule of punting. This doesn't just apply to AW and UKP, but also other hookup sites as a vindictive WG could mess you up across the whole hobby.

Change one of them ASAP.

Definitely different usernames.
Not so much an issue as it was because I tend to phone rather than using the AW booking system these days.
I also try not to get too specific with details that are immaterial to the gist of the review.
And I'm slightly baffled by these reviews recently who volunteer the day and time of the review.
I'm sure the experiences SPs are reading these reviews.
Much as I've been mightily entertained by some of the tales of daring do I have found myself shaking my head at the details shared.

Even if you use different user names on UKP and AW, so no way to connect you, but there is a way, if your not careful

Your review of the escort, or even the feedback, make sure if leaving feedback and a field report on AW, it completely different from what you leave on ukp

I guess I've been a bit naive. I'm an old hand at punting, less so tech! Obviously no link between AW username and any civvie sites.

Have sent a request to change username. Other comments about reviews etc also taken on board.

I used to share the name The Owl with the old UKE forum. Looking back at that, it was a mistake as what I said on here could have bitten me on the arse over there. If I ever join the UKE replacement I'll use another new name.

There is a great deal of wisdom and experience gained at great expense to benefit from and it only takes a little practice to get at most of it.  There are even tips and tricks posted for searching the threads and a means for you to track threads of interest.

Yes he could have searched and maybe even found a previous thread, but he didn’t. He’s new here. Maybe like me he also didn’t realise you’d now been made a UKP mod, or given responsibility for keeping the owners costs under control

Point taken. I shall be more judicious in future before asking questions and do a thorough search beforehand. I'm finding this site a great resource already so will into how to make a payment towards it's running.

In terms of raising old topics, not a big deal IMHO.  It can be good sometimes in fact. Sometimes re discussing old topics bring out new facts.  Or new made up facts like the suggestion that UKP and AW names can be linked with an app. One can sometimes figure it out if you look at someone with many reviews here and check all of them for AW feedback. But that is hard work and still can be wrong.

It’s surprisingly easy to change your username on AW. Surprising because everything else there is a ball ache.

I had to change mine recently, so I could watch a video. Just logged into desktop site and under my account changed the name keeping all my feedbacks etc.

Should have different names. I think bland names are best too. If you call yourself something zany in order to display how clever and outre you are you're much easier to find on Google. If you Google say, Astronaut, there'll be billions of hits. If you Google 8inchDaveofGrimsby it'll virtually be a Googkewhack and easy to track.
Obviously it all boils down to how relaxed you are about an escort, pimp or forum maniac trying to track you down by diving into your trail across the internet.

You don't actually have to use the search function, you could browse the pages of the forum dipping into any threads suggestive of a subject of interest.

If he had done so he would've seen near half a dozen of more threads in the first 2 pages alone dealing with things to consider when punting.  Whilst they may not have directly mentioned AW and UKP logins the implication of their advice would've been pretty clear to anyone with some reasoning ability.

If you actually appreciate the recorded contribution of others here then you should consult it before asking others to repeat it or direct you to it because you're too fucking lazy to try finding it.

Being a mod is not some sanctifying recognition or bestowed duty that you are one of those few who understand the purpose and value of this site to make the best of it.  Being a mod does not place you at the beck and call on some Punting Help Desk.  Head1 could make a small fortune from the likes of behaviour that you're condoning if he just set up a single page "Wanna Punt, we can help, just call 0898......."

It's called OW(O) or "Out Wankers (Out)" is an illegally constructed app in violation of GDPR/DPA/HRA from agency and SP disclosures or hacks of numbers that have called them and anecdotal or fabricated unsubstantiated reports of accompanying poor punter behaviour.

My AW and UKP id are the same, over time, it would not be hard for a diligent person to work out who is who anyhow.

If an SP wants to block me because of that, it's self selection, that person would certainly provide a shite service.

He didn’t ask for advice on “things to consider when punting” but specifically about the benefits or risks of using the same username on here and AW and asked for the thoughts of members. None of which I can see had (at the time of his thread) been asked recently, and certainly not in “the first 2 pages alone”

As for your final paragraph about Mods, I think perhaps that my point was lost on you. Yours is certainly lost on me!
