Been a member for a while but thought I'd get your views on this.

Totally agree with LL. I relish in the 'nervousness' - it is all part of the experience for me. The day I don't feel the rush will be time to find a new hobby.

The only two ways to get over it are;

1. Keep doing it. And doing it and doing it. After a while you will no longer get nervous like this.

2. Speak to your GP and ask for either Beta Blockers, or an SSRI or SNRI medication to help with nerves.

But actually I have thought of a third way.

3. And that is, if you have a poor-mediocre punt, where you think "I just paid her £100, an entire days wages on that". This is one of the good ways to remove the nervousness over punting and start to look at it more abstract.

But I am not telling you to have a poor punt. But it will come sooner or later unfortunately. And when you do. A lot of your nerves should start to be removed.

I am probably more nervous when I have a first meet with a WG I've never previously met, simply because of not knowing how the punt could turn out.

I think sex with the wife in a hotel and sex with an escort in hotel are different things, as with a wife you book a room together, check in together and leave together. Whereas with an escort you have to dodge past reception alone, both before and after the punt, as she has only booked the room for herself.
