Spain's socialist PM , has vowed to ban prostitution !
Won't go down well with the men over there, as puti bars are a national institution in Spain

Idiot politician. A great way to get criminals in charge of it all. Just as happened with Prohibition in the US, and has happened in the UK where you could get drugs on prescription until the late '60's. At that time I lived with an ex call-girl who had been a methedrine addict. She predicted what would happen.

well its probably a vote winner in spain and I'm not sure he will work too hard to apply it; in addition to brothels there are still thousands of streetwalkers to tempt the locals and the tourists who will find this sort of thing hard to resist

Awful but the Nordic law seems to be the way things are going in Europe. At this point I just won't take the risk in any of these countries.

Illegal but often unenforced. Was legalised after the end of his rule.

According to wiki. partially from 1962.
Regardless it's always seemed to me that banning sex between two consenting adults is somewhat fascist.

Idiot. All this will do is get the criminals running things and see the WGs being forced underground without any legal protection.

It's a quick and easy vote winner and can only hope it's weakly (if not at all) enforced.

On the other hand, good news from Mexico where they seem to have worked out that criminalising prostitutes and clients only works in favour of the gangs and pimps.
