I don't want to encourage deposits because I don't like them, but many of us have very recently had some experience using "A vouchers" to anonymously pass money on to UKP.  You could in theory do the same with an SP to keep your bank details nice and safe.

I paid a deposit once. £20 via an adultwork purchase. She was an escort who also did cam work. It was late, options were limited,  and she was up for an outcall....if there was a deposit made as she would have missed out on cam income.

The amount (her idea) proved I was genuine, allowed for neg feedback if I was going to mess her about (and vice versa). She turned up and we had a nice time. And a few more nice times over a few years.

The reason is very simple, they get too many no shows and may end up turning down bookings because of time wasters.

One of the SPs that scammed me was a relatively new adultwork account but the other was a longstanding aw with plenty of feedback and was on a fairly well known agency. I might see if she has any feedback here if I can remember what name(s) she went under. I've had a few adultwork logins and it's not on my current one. Very simple for me, I would NEVER pay a deposit in punting and don't book WGs who ask for one as they wouldn't get it so it would be a waste of my time.

Indeed, if I booked a WG based in Glasgow to come and see me in London I imagine she would want me to pay her train fare at least, the thing is I wouldn't book such a WG in the first place to get into that scenario. The risk of getting fucked over however high or low that risk is isn't worth it to me.

For a straight forward incall I wouldn't consider it. But I have paid a small deposit (~£20) in the past for outcalls. Just need to do your research, if it's a new profile then no chance but if they are established and been going for a while it's unlikely they'd try and scam you out of a small deposit vs their reputation.

In hundreds of punts I have very rarely been asked for a deposit but I do avoid any WG who states she wants one on her profile though.

To me its simple basic common sense, I don't pay deposits in punting, its a no brainer.
