Not forgetting the " stronger " magazines like Playbirds, Whitehouse,  Lovebirds that left absolutely nothing to the imagination. Quite often I remember visiting a " Private" shop in my home town and there used to be a lady serving there who was faf herself in a milfy sort of way. Sometimes models from these magazines would do tours and visit these shops.
I remember meeting this particular lady at a shop her name was Tara Bardot  :rose:
This was long before mobile phone cameras unfortunately so could not get a souvenir picture of her visit  :dash:

Tara Bardot! That’s a name from the 90’s! I’d forgot about her! Along with the amazing Jo Guest.
As far as the brown paper bag went I always used to by a newspaper at 20p and slide it in there. The harder stuff to begin with was always censored with black dots or just blocked out fully. You knew which was the cumshot page as there would be a smattering of black dots on tits.

She also used the name Tara Jackson if I remember correctly.  A stunning looking girl. Pretty sure she did a fiona cooper tape under a different name too which I probably had many moons ago. She was as stunning in real life as she appeared in the magazines

I wonder if she still looks as good or if the ravages of time have taken their toll.

Yeah, as you get older you get stiffer

I thought as you get older you got softer. Hence the little blue pill  :unknown:

I often wonder how these models from the 80's and 90's look today. Some women like Twiggy keep their ages well ,others who have perhaps dabbled in drugs or drink not so. I remember seeing recent  photos of pioneer Page 3 girl Jilly Johnson , she still looked good today. All down to how they look after themselves when they retire from modelling.  :unknown:

I googled Tara Bardot to see if anything was on there. Sadly just brought up early pics.

No doubt a pseudonym.

Occasionally buy when "Saturday comes", it's been going for a long time, surprised it has lasted so long. Also Occasionally buy "Late tackle" which is a simular sort of magazine .
Also " Forty twenty" which is a Rugby League monthly magazine very similar to "when Saturday comes"

These days WSC also have a Patreon which helps to keep the magazine going and I contribute to that as good football writing should be supported if you pardon the pun.

Used to read World Soccer which is informative if a bit on the dry side. Back in the 90s I was a big fan of the footy humour mags Sweet FA! (which was basically a football version of Viz) and The Onion Bag which was also good.

I buy World Soccer at the start of the season for its preview of the upcoming season of all the major leagues in Europe. As well as watching English football I do watch quite a bit of Bundesliga and La Liga football.  This magazine has also been going since the 70's so has done well to last the course. I have been buying Four Four Two ever since it came out 30 years ago. I vaguely remember the "onion bag" . Late tackle is a similar magazine to " when Saturday comes" as it has a lot of independent writers contribute stories.  The problem with Four Four Two is that it's heavily biased on the Premier league now for it's articles which I guess is no surprise. There was an interesting article last month though on former football league club Rushden & Diamonds  their rapid rise and subsequent fall from grace. You can see the same thing happening to Forest Green Rovers.

I subscribe to Retro Gamer and also to When Saturday Comes since the 90s. Have found Retro Gamer to be a bit hit and miss with the last couple of issues being definitely miss. Their last subscription offer came with a free 8BitDo gamepad which is decent. When Saturday Comes is always an interesting read and do enjoy their tournament and season prediction issues.
I sometimes bought Retrogamers special issues. I think now apart from exclusive interviews there is better information on HG 101 or even paper scissors shotgun not to mention a plethora of YouTube reviews and retrospectives

Indeed. But I thought it might have turned something current up but never mind.

My football watching is mainly limited to the football league highlights and following my local team who've had their peaks and troughs this season but certainly have made progress from last season. Late Tackle was good but didn't really buy it as I was subscribing to When Saturday Comes didn't see the point of duplication at the time.

Rusheden and Diamonds are head to head with Rugby Town for the final relegation spot and have to win by at least three clear goals if Ruby win which is a tall order. They were put in from a lower division to make up the numbers and it shows. Forest Green Rovers biggest mistake was getting rid of the spine of the team as soon as they got promoted which crippled the side. Do wonder how long it'll be before the owner gets bored of running a football team and like you say can see the fall from grace happening very quickly.

Certainly there are better, more in-depth resources of information to be had on the Internet about this (the current website I'm reading is 'Games That Weren't' and the discovery of a fishing game Ocean did for the TV show 'Dramarama') and listen to the Retro Hour podcast at work as they do conduct some excellent interviews.

One of the main reason why I buy Retro Gamer is that I'm not stuck reading a screen all the time as this way it's better for my eyes and mind . The interviews are good and there are some interesting articles about the making of games (do enjoy reading the 'Conversion Capers' segment about them).
