This thread seems to be based on the recent C4 documentary, discussed in this parallel thread:
https://www.ukpunting.com/index.php?topic=315613.0As I said in that thread:
It is very hard to tell if a girl has been trafficked into the UK. My rule of thumb is to ask myself how did the girl raise the money to get here, rent the accommodation she is in, and all the other costs associated with getting to and working in the UK. And how much control has she over what she is doing, is she doing her own advertising or is someone else doing it for her, is someone else controlling her bookings, and suchlike. The more red flags, the more likely that she was trafficked.
I have seen some Brazilians who I can be as sure as I can be, weren't trafficked. Had been to the UK before as a tourist, liked it here so returned as a WG, arranged their own accommodation, you made the bookings direct with them, and so on. One of them would be in my all-time top ten. Unfortunately, she continually had accommodation issues when neighbours twigged what she was up to (a real problem for WGs arranging their own accommodation) and eventually gave it up as a bad job.
However, as I also said in that thread, I find it hard to believe that many girls have the money up-front to fund their return airfare from somewhere like Brazil or China, for example, and pay the deposit for a flat in somewhere like central London or Birmingham. If she didn't have the money up-front, and the necessary references, and speaks almost no English, what is the most likely way she got here? Particularly if she comes from a country where trafficking is rife, she is working in a cheap-rate rotation parlour where someone else is controlling her bookings.
Not all Brazilians are trafficked, just like not all UK indies are working of their own free will. No one thing (like which country they come from) is a sure sign of whether a girl is trafficked or not, but the more yellow cards, the more likely it is.
