I started a new job once and there was a recent punt there...
working shifts in a factory... they paid good money at the time for unskilled labour and half the town worked there... everybody temps... you could pretty much just turn up at the agency and ask for a job... 99.9% foreign (except for me)... I was getting my act together after years of debauchery...
we recognized each other but didnt speak... she wasn't there next time our shifts came round the following week... never saw her again... I don't tell anybody that I punt so I would never have said anything to anyone... I felt bad that she needed the job but thought she had to leave (especially as she was there first) but I guess she couldn't risk it...
the whole thing was really weird because she was whoring at a shepherd market walk up and I was living a few miles outside London... we got talking and she was really freaked when I told her some details about me and she couldn't contain herself and she admitted she lived near me... we were both quite shocked because not only were we living in this obscure backwater but were in the same corner of that backwater... yet there we were in the west end in amongst the crowds and the bright lights and Mayfair splendor and had managed to cross paths... this is back when shepherd market was proper RLD and most of the west end was rampant with whorehouses, walk ups and brothels... it was her first night and she told me whoring wasn't for her and I don't think she ever went back...
then a few weeks or maybe a month or 2 later there she is in that factory.
just goes to show if you want to stay anonymous keep your mouth shut... also be careful in the west end because the footfall is huge and you will see people you know.
They used to say about times square (new york) that if you stand in the same place long enough you will see everyone you have ever met.
