This doesn't surprise me, having been a BDSM player for X number of years. Kinky means different things to different people, there is a broad spectrum of fetishists out there, your example might seem extreme but it's certainly not unusual.

I guess kink is very relative to what you feel is extreme. I’m quite mild when it comes to kink but an ex of mine from way back in the day was the total opposite. I indulged in some soft kinks like 50 shades level but draw the line eventually and called it a day.
