I'd love to but 4hrs travelling and back is involved so would like to be sure before heading off.

No local buddies fancy having a go first?

Just in case if I spend 4 hrs on train pay for a hotel, experience no-show and then 4 more hrs on the train :-/

Normally I'd call anyone a prick who asks other punters to risk their own cash for their behalf, particularly at those prices, but an 8-hour round trip?

I can see why you'd want more certainty. Is she the only SP in the universe for you? If you're not worried about cost, why not ask her to travel closer to you?
Alternatively, pay for the punt/hotel and I'll go check her out for the team. I'll even pick up my own travel costs.
