Regardless of the short term pain, it's the long term consequences that are more significant, not sure if I will ever be able to have unprotected sex/oral with the Mrs again, not good.
Yes, they are unfortunately. Even in the absence of ulcers you can still be shedding the virus through the skin.... this viral shedding occurs a few times a year even though there are no obvious signs it is happening.
I know this sounds crappy but in a way its good you have HSV-1 and not HSV-2. HSV-2 outbreaks are more frequent and worse in severity. Out of interest, im assuming you dont suffer from oral cold sores?
Not sure what you could tell your partner except to just be honest, which, is easier said than done granted but its difficult to get HSV-1 down there unless it from someones mouth....
I guess this serves to be a warning to everyone just how risky OWO is, and even with a condom, HSV1 and 2 can still be transmitted during oral and sex if the fluids come in contact with the base of the condom. Its a risky game this punting thats for sure...
