Hello. Got some viagra from drfox. Now im due to go for a drugs test for a job ive applied and if get the job i can randomly get tested. My question is does viagra or its substitutes show up in a urine test. The urine test usually shows recreational drugs but can also show medications which are prescribed by the doctor. Dont fancy telling them i have taken viagra.

Found this via Google

If they tested for it, it would, but since Viagra is not a controlled drug, it is unlikely that a drug screen will be looking for it. They are usually looking for drugs that are commonly abused like cocaine, amphetamines, morphine and other opioids, and benzodiazepines etc.

I guess if you are about to sign for a football club then you would probably be fine as Viagra does not give you any advantage on the pitch.

Or if you are about to have watersports with your wife then she would probably find out that you have been taking Viagra. So in that situation you may be fucked!

So what, it's none of their business. It's not a controlled drug.
Only situation I can see it being a problem is where there's a safety critical application e.g. pilot, train driver, because of the possible complications of blood pressure or colour vision. If that applied to you, you'd know and it would be written into your contract.

The D4 HGV medical form that a doctor has to complete when you are examined for your licence makes no mention of colour blindness and it isn't tested. Once you reach a certain age an optician has to complete the eyesight section, before that the doctor uses a snellen chart. If you wear glasses it's one with and one without but no check for colour blindness.

Then discuss it with them beforehand. Its unlikely to be a problem, but they'll need to know for insurance reasons.

Dont take it with 48 hours of the test.
It will be gone out of your system easy in 24

If its safety critical he'll be subject to ongoing random checks. He needs to discuss it in advance

Probably best i speak to them, i don't really  need it. Just wanted to try it

I'm guessing it will show up in a test but like every drug test you need to test for the specific drug so they have no more reason to test for viagra than they would for aspirin or statins, a urine test would be pretty basic

You'll be asked to specify any medications you're on prior to the test. Some can interfere and give false positives. Don't know if viagra would or not, but better to be upfront and suffer the mild embarrassment of admitting to taking viagra, than fail the test and have to explain afterwards, when you might not be believed and face the sack.

I can't imagine any job where taking viagra would be a problem - it was originally developed as a blood pressure medication and it's performance enhancing nature was discovered by accident. WADA don't have an issue with it so you'll be ok applying for that job at SKY cycling.

Realistically, drug testing as someone has already pointed out, is more likely to be for recreational drugs as you can't just put it in a machine and ask for anything without investing serious amounts of money

Beat me to it. When asked, list everything, as you can register a false positive. Ignore this advice at your peril.
