For the most part I'd say it's near impossible to approach them like this without it being awkward. They for the most part want to be discreet so being surprised with a conversation like this is never going to be ideal. 

Try it another way - chat them up and ask if you can buy them a coffee / drink...what's the worst that can happen?  Either she's a WG and she'll flirt with you and eventually let on you're gonna have to pay, or she's not and you've got a free date with a cute girl. 

Worst case she says piss off and you can be fairly sure she's not a WG. Job done.

Why is it obvious?

Just be careful when you approach women on the street offering money for sex. You may think "it's obvious" she is a prossie but you may be wrong. Worst case scenario... you could be arrested because as far as I know soliciting women for sex on the streets is illegal.

In what situation are you coming across these ladies that you think may be escorts? In bars/ night clubs/ the street/ shopping in Sainsbury's? It's prob not best to bring up 'having seen you on the internet' even if you are dead certain it's her as they may be with friends or people from other walks of her life who may not know about her profession. If it's a club type environment and she seems to be behaving in a way that she is open to being approached, why not flirt and buy her a drink... you never know where that may lead if she is a wg or not! x
