Hello Gents,

I have been a member for a while and use my laptop to check reviews on here and research girls on Awork. I login using google incognito each time but for the last month or so after doing this I get a load of dodgy emails (meet this girl, invest money etc) to my personal and work emails, my business website has a contact form, not sure if this is the cause? Has anyone else experienced this or any ideas to stop?

I use Opera as a dedicated browser for all punting activities along with dedicated punting email, Google has a mind of it's own and tries to link all kinds of things, I would stop using it if I were you and keep it for only 'legit' purposes.

There's a site called mask me, you can use it to register to sites and any emails you get it will show from what site it took your email address.
Example use it to join Facebook, let's say it regs you with the email fb001@gmail. You get an email from a website selling viagra to fb001@gmail.
In the header of the email,  iirc, you would get the text maskme(facebook).
So you know where the viagra site got you email address from.

Hope this makes sense

Don't use a work laptop, or browse punting site whilst in the office/work place. Use a personal device at home which never gets used for work.

? I browse on here on a tablet using bog standard Chrome, don't use incognito or any form of "hiding" software. Yet despite this cavalier attitude I never get any weird emails. This leads me to think the problem, as ever,  is linked to social media stuff installed on same PC because I don't have any of that stuff at all.

Thankfully never had any dodgy e-mails related to this.

Thanks for replies. I think a separate tablet is the easiest option for me.

Sounds like there's something else at work. The only way I can imagine you'd get an email related to the sites you visit is if there's some tracking software installed. Definitely not come from this site though, it doesn't set off any malware alerts...

I think your problem is elsewhere OP but a quick point about Chrome Incognito.

I used to use that method and nearly came a cropper when, for some reason, I found my AW log in details had been saved and prefilled when I went back to the site ! It would have only taken the missus to have a look at the site and my login details would have appeared ! It was probably a mistake I'd made but it is SO easy to do with Chrome and a setting you've overlooked.

Also, the way your Bookmarks and history get saved across phones and anything else linked to your account is really very risky as it will only be a matter of time before you make a mistake too.

What I do now is have a seperate browser on my laptop for all things illicit. Firefox.

I have it set never to save passwords and log in details, so that cuts out a lot of risks. It's set to remove history as soon as the browsers closed, so basically it's also a one click shut down and clean up. I've got Adblock and Adgaurd (both free) blockers installed as extensions, so watching mucky porn tubes is not such a pain with adverts (also good for mainstream Youtube ad blocking).  No question of cross saving history, bookmarks etc to my android phone either. Seems to work for me .

I haven't had any of the dodgy emails as mentioned above, but l have had a rash of odd 'friend requests' on my Facebook account (and l do check and have never had anything filter across from my punting activities).

Most recently l had a friend request from a (male) massage parlor owner in Tucson Arizona. The profile pic showed a happy smiling American guy surrounded by three faf  Asian girls.  (Prior to that it was a 73 year old grandma in Utah)
