Author Topic: Txt message from GUM clinic?  (Read 20686 times)

I received a text message earlier today. It is definitely not a genuine text because I regularly have checkups with my GUM clinic and was given the all clear just two weeks ago.

Furthermore, my GUM clinic uses my usual phone number and not my punting phone number where this text message arrived.

My punting phone number is only given to escorts and AW, so they are the only ones who could have sent this text.

This is very worrying because there has recently been a spate of AW hacking attacks on certain escorts and UKP members.

Either someone has hacked my AW account or some escort that I have seen has anonymously sent me this text, warning me to have a check up as perhaps she has an STI and wants to warn me about it.

Has anyone else received such a worrying text?

a wg account hacked and they want to ruin  her

GUM clinics will, if requested, take on the task of informing sexual contacts of someone diagnosed with a STI.

Possibly a wg, having been diagnosed with STI, and who has your number will have passed it to the clinic (along with lots of others!).

Suggest you make that call and get tested.

Exactly .... would be interesting to see if anyone else gets one as well .... or if anyone else admits it.

I only got tested two weeks ago and have no symptoms at all. Maybe it is a prank, but my concern is how could they have got my phone number? It has to be some escort that I saw or contacted via AW or that my AW account is hacked.

I agree with this. A quick Google of the number indicates it's a genuine clinic but do your own double-checking. Your own GUM clinic will only send you very bland texts, but this one looks like it is as a result of a WG letting the clinic reach out to her clientèle upon catching an infection.

Really? You mean the GUM clinic will take all the numbers of punters from a prossie's phone and send them all a text to let them know they have come into contact with someone with an STI? Really?
Incidentally, has the OP rung the number from whence this text came? Call me an old cynic but it may not have come from the GUM clinic.

It will be someone you have seen who has saved your number who found out she was infected so gave your number to the clinic so they could inform you that you need to be tested again.  Clinics do this if the girl in question doesn't want you to know she is infected herself but the clinic has stated she needs to inform everyone so they will do it on her behalf.

This is nothing to do with AW or being hacked.  GUM clinics will do this to ensure men she has seen get notified that someone they have seen is infected so they need to retested.

Not just prossies, anyone who is positive. there was a comedy series in the telly recently about a chap who had to contact his old partners, but if you dint want to do it yourself they do it for you.

Don't gonorrhoea take 2-3 weeks to show up?

By far the simplest explanation is a WG gave out your number.  No need for a conspiracy theory.

Quite responsible of her but also quite indiscrete.  Not sure how I would feel about this.

I've had it done a few times and get  unwanted text.

Normally I just change sim cards but this is a hassle as regulars save my number.

On a few occasions, I looked up the details and have given them, some feedback (in a unfavourable way), and text have stop.

I must say I would rather know about it than not know!!
I will have to see who is taking a break as I punt in the same area.
Thankfully I have not had a text

She did the right thing.  It's normal for people at risk to be contacted. Bit  of a bummer if you're married and used your regular phone, but it could plausibly be a "wrong number" or a "prank".

However,  most networks delete texts that aren't read after 72 hours (3 days).  And I expect most punting phones don't get switched on very often - only shortly before a punt.  I'd advise any London-based punters reading this to switch on their phones and check for texts, just in case.

Legitimate texts from this clinic come from the following number:

+447860031201.
I know that as I was there on Monday this week and I still have a text from them.

Marty, be thankful that this girl has gone to the effort of giving a list of numbers to the clinic staff.  Many would not.

I do hope those that didn't know before understand this is a genuine service from the NHS. If you get a text, act on it.

Also works the other way. If you are diagnosed with an STI, you can give them numbers of wgs.
Your name won't be revealed.  Imagine having to call round all the prossies you've seen since you were last tested to tell them you've got HIV (worst case :scare:)

As someone has mentioned - if you are in a relationship, use a punting phone.

I totally agree.  Marty, you really shouldn't punt again until you've had more tests and find out that you're in the clear.  The clinic will tell you that requires leaving a 2-week period after the encounter before having your urine tested.

I am visiting my GUM clinic tomorrow, just to be 100% sure. I am not taking any chances. I'm not seeing anyone for around 2 weeks anyway. I am 99% sure I am not infected but I want to be 100% sure.

That's the first thing I looked for but no. However, the sender of the text has a very strange number beginning with a 2.

You have to wait 2 weeks after your last sex session so if you go tomorrow then your last punt should have been before 22nd May - No point going tomorrow if you have seen a WG between 23rd May and 5th June as it can take up to 2 weeks for the STI to show up in the urine test

OK. Thanks for the info. But I doubt if I have any STI. Got tested just two weeks ago. Will still get tested for peace of my mind and for others.

The ladies that I have seen are very popular on UKP, so I bet others here have received similar messages. If they haven't, then I will assume that this is the work of some troll or one of the two ladies that I did not leave positive feedback for. The first one was the one I left a negative for (not a popular girl at all) and the other one was the Indian time waster.

I am sorry for leaving many punters terrified. This was never my intention.

Sorry to hear of this Marty.
It sounds like you are taking the sensible course, even if other punters maybe don't declare themselves here.
Hope all turns out fine as I'm sure it will.

For some peace of mind, Elle was tested at Dean Street Express last Thursday and showed me her test results on Thursday evening when I saw her - all clear across the board.

This is far more likely to be the result of the recent hacking that has taken place IMO.

I agree and if it were me I would be checking with the GUM that that text definitely came from them, someone would be responsible for sending such texts obviously so will know what number/s they use.

My default position would be to not trust a text like this unless I got the above verification, I would if need be go to the GUM and show them the text.

+1 - Really need to know if text is genuine or a fake - But to start naming girls on the forum IMO is not a good idea as its is pure speculation and pure guess work - Do we start accusing all the girls that Marty has punted with over the last 2-12 weeks ? As if it is genuine then the girl could have punted with Marty 3 months ago and only just got tested in the last few weeks.

Really not good from any member here on UKP to start guessing.

Offline claretandblue

Summarising all this it seems to be that 2 weeks ago Marty tested clear but maybe he is not and the text was genuine. If we also know that it takes two weeks for this to show up that would have to mean it was someone he saw around May 11/12/13th.

Did Marty see someone around that time and report all manner of bodily fluid exchange which he assured us was completely safe as she is a "A classy girl and not one of those Eastern European scumbags"

But, that classy girl can't be the cause can she, after all she is still working. Oh, no, wait - she just "retired" all of a sudden.

Gonhorrea - the 8th wonder of the world! Dude - Lindsey gave you the clap!

Hope it clears up soon Marty :)

i havent seen the girl you mention and have at times complained about her fluffy fanboys but you are well out of order there, also her profile clearly states she is going away in august and has not already retired

out of subject and only for our information

Gonorrhea :  in males, symptoms usually appear two to seven days after infection but it can take as long as 30 days for symptoms to begin

I agree, another WG was referred to though not named in an earlier post by another poster I see. The fact is mud sticks so in my view its wise to be sure of the real facts before naming names or in anyway referring to specific WGs.

Its also the case that reviews and posts on here on WGs don't mean that the punter who posted them has ONLY punted with those WGs recently. I have punted with a number of WGs recently who I have never mentioned on here for example.

Stage one, get certain confirmation the text came from the GUM, if it did stage two get tested, if positive stage three inform ALL WGs and any non-WGs you have tested positive. A process I hope I will never have to go through.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE - PLEASE READ IT

The text came from a mobile number 266822842, as can be seen from the screenshot of my punting mobile phone. I tried calling this weird number but got no tone at all. I then concluded that the text was a hoax from a hacker / troll .....HOWEVER....

From my latest text chat with a reliable escort, she has confirmed that when the same clinic sends a text, the number often does not make sense as it is computer generated by their system, so she is adamant that the text was from the actual clinic and was not a hoax.

This, alongwith the fact that at least one more punter that I have received a PM from (who I do not wish to name) has knowledge of another punter that has received a similar text leads me to conclude that I have probably come into contact with a very popular escort that has gonorrhea and that she is very kind to discreetly notify me and other punters via the clinic.

I say very popular escort because all the ones I have seen lately are popular with UKP members.

I am grateful that the STI is not a serious one and can be treated successfully. If it was Herpes or HIV then I would be in a state of shock. Thankfully this is not the case.

I shall get tested after 2-3 weeks, and I urge other punters to get tested, as it is likely that they would have seen this lady because she is very popular.

I shall not be punting during this period; and until I receive an all clear from my GUM clinic, I have no intention of punting. Likewise, for the safety of the girls and the punters, I urge other punters to get tested too.

It is very unwise and also defamatory to make assumptions on who the infected girl could be, so it is best not to play "whodunnit".

I have not reviewed each and every girl that I have seen, so please do not search my reviews or my AW feedback and make unreasonable assumptions as to who the escort is. All I can say is that I do not review nor make actual AW bookings with certain escorts roughly half of the time.

Let me assure you that whoever the girl was that notified her clinic and provided them with telephone numbers of her clients, she does not deserve to lose her reputation for being kind and generous in helping to halt spreading this STI which in any case is treatable.

Whoever this escort is, she is very professional and courteous. I bet there are many that neither get regularly tested, or fail to disclose their medical problems to their clients. We should punish those escorts and not this lovely escort, whoever she may be.

Last but not least, I hope all this does not distract the ladies and us guys from punting.

Happy punting.
