The word demand doesn't exist when I agree a punt with a WG, she either says she does offer what I want or doesn't. I always know what I require and take the lead allowing for the WG to offer something extra which happens on occasion. But ultimately I call the shots as its me paying and that's what suits me.

Really interesting to hear other's views on this - I wish I had been able to talk about this with punters when I started.  I used to just go with the flow and like the OP was shy/nervous about asking for anything in particular.  I would manage to say that I liked oral but that was about it.

Now I am much more likely to direct the punt, although sometimes with a good girl (perhaps a regular) it is nice to lie back and let them please me.  Often though that will be because they know what I want from previous visits.
