I've used a few strings in the search engine such as [adultwork business model], [adultwork fees], [adultwork commission], etc, but haven't found many/any threads describing exactly what the arrangements are between us the punters and service providers.

I had quite a long confusing conversation with a brothel worker this week who contradicted many of the asssumptions I had made based on several conversations on the issues with other hookers.

So, I would be grateful to learn how well AW vets service providers and how much it charges them to provide services to the service providers.

This week I was told AW doesn't charge them to remain advertised on the site as the main revenue stream .... so if AW lets any old gipo twat from Romania on for free how the hell has it become so successful?

Private Gallery income may be considerable and AW takes a percentage when the SP wishes to withdraw her money.  Allegedly they are also quite good at closing the accounts of SPs who just happen to have built up a large credit in the account.  It's said to be generally on a technicality but it doesn't make any difference because they grab all the credits back.

Their business model is to suspended WG profiles with fake / flimsy reasons and seized their credits.

They like to pick on 'weaker' targets, mainly women from Eastern Europe.

But prossies are quite desperate to advertise on there despite all that, which is ironic given I remember in 2007-2009 they used to mock AdultWork (on Pro$$ieNet) as being tatty and full of low class men who want cheap punts. That quickly changed over the economic depression and had to signup ;)

Why worry about how AW make their money, use it to find prossies for you to see and let them worry about what it costs them, you don't have to pay. They don't vet anybody though, that's why there's so many scammers.

sorry, what? who's scamming who?

the hooker I spoke with this week told me that she had two profiles taken down by AW before she was able to establish her current one, she also said that AW can be quite strict concerning verification ,,,, it would be nice to have more trust in the AW process, but if it's scamming the girls wtf is going on?

I remember this well. The only escorts I know that aren't on AW are parlour girls, often working multiple days and from multiple parlours; maybe they don't want to work from home or like the framework of having a fixed routine and guaranteed punters.

Correct. Many chose to earn credits with pictures or webcam or phone chat, and then use them to display a phone number. Then you've got punters who buy credits (and the girls themselves), it's easy to underestimate how many use webcam services, even if it's 10% of registered male users it's still going to be worth millions every year. We've all predicted something will overtake AW, the same can be said for Facebook, EBay and Google Maps so far nobody has come close. What's the alternative? Vivastreet? Gumtree? or the back of Admag?

AW doesn't vet its service providers, it is community policing much like most sites. Have a look at some of the rubbish that gets posted I've seen profile with pictures of Kim Kardashian and big name porn stars before. Going back to other examples how did Facebook overtake Myspace and become so popular; coincidentally why would anyone upload such personal information on a publicly viewable website? Simply, word of mouth and no worthy competition. The framework and useability is the best I've seen on AW compared to any other site of its type, the only downside is it's slow and the video and PGs are too expensive due to not having a fixed price.
