To be fair, there'a s strong argument for variable pricing, depending on demand. If a SP has a dusty phone she might do a short term offer to stimulate business (

If she gets booked up one week and someone wants a booking then the price might go that week. It's a bit like how flight prices change as plane gets filled up.
On the assumption she honours the price she books at, it does makes planning a bit tricky though since airlines vary future prices and she only varies her price today. For example, if her price is particularly high one week and you want a booking for a fortnight's time, do you book at there high rate or wait a week to see if it drops? As I said, a bit annoying.
What it does mean though it that she's more likely to consider offers.
