Author Topic: New USA law to ban websites which "facilitate sex work"  (Read 1673 times)

In the USA, where sex work is illegal, it will be illegal to advertise escorts on sites like Backpage, AW, etc. All under the guise of stopping sex trafficking as they are completely confusing the difference between sex work and sex trafficking, IMO. Sex work is already illegal there, and I remember someone posting new of a police raid that included punter getting $3,000 fines for handjobs at a parlour.

I wonder if AdultWork will work in the USA if it is based overseas?

Adultwork United States section has removed the "Escorts" tab from its US version and all escort profiles don't seem to be showing any rates.

Hope the UK don't start getting ideas otherwise it be back to the daily sport and freeads!

Idiots.  They need to stop living in fantasyland and consult with Freakonomics type thinking.

Do they think that stopping non trafficked sex work will reduce trafficking? When clearly if one thinks about it for 5 seconds, the opposite happens.

Next they will suggest that more guns will reduce gun crime....or vote in a reality TV star as president.

Another site specialising in transsexuals has pulled its escort reviews due to this US rubbish, hope to see more unbiased/un-fluffy reviews here in the future!

So how does one find a punt out there. Over there later in the year and will be keen to have a meet or 2 lined up at the hotel!

I've just come back from a business trip in the US. Obviously states vary wildly, but where I was, Ohio - just forget it. It was a punting wasteland. Plenty of massage outlets, mostly legit. I could get no decent concrete advise online. A real puritanical feel to the place, and I fear the UK are about to catch the same cold the US has.

Remember, it's proper illegal there, absolutely not worth the risk. I have friends there and of the ones I'm able to discuss this with, regular trips abroad are the way they handle it.

Just can't help themselves the yanks. Got to stir the shit pot everyonce in a while.

This is the world capital for the porn industry so illegal prostitution seems a bit two-faced to me and I can't help wondering about how The Donalds alleged relationship with Stormy Daniels would fit into this legal framework.

Sounds dreadful. So if you can't get laid, you really, really cannot get laid. I found this video of a sting operation... so shameful of the reporters that they also plaster the punter's face all over the telly. What a puritanical shithole. External Link/Members Only

Actually the data support the assertion that more access to guns by everyday folk has reduced gun crimes significantly.  The cities in the US with the highest levels of gun violence usually correlate with the cities with the most restrictive gun ownership and carry laws.

Moral indignation overload from the police and media.
The reporters don't give a shit who they destroy as long as they get a story and further their careers.Neither do they really care one iota about sex workers, or anyone else for that matter. Virtue signalling narcissistic psychopaths.

Sexual freedom is at risk from these damning new bills passed by Congress

Craigslist closed its personal ads due to Congress’s patriarchal, homophobic bid to control sex workers. It won’t stop there

Scrubbed clean: why a certain kind of sex is vanishing from the internet

A US government effort to fight online sex trafficking has cleansed many sites of personal ads and consensual eroticism, in a shift advocates say amounts to dangerous censorship

It has always been pain in the ass. The escorts will ask to verified you and usually that mean another escort "vouch" for you. The reference system was rather bizarre

Go to a quality hotel and befriend the barman ( ie big tips )
There will always be a few high class working girls there and they won’t be that hard to “chat up”. Just be discreet.

The US was set up by Puritans don't forget. Maybe if they concentrated on stopping their kids being killed every week by random active shooters, rather than worry about a guy getting his end away for cash, the country would be in a better state

This law will only push prostitution more underground. Violence against prostitutes will go unpunished, as women may be less likely to go to the police if they are considered to be at the margin of the law.

In reality this leads to selective enforcement, as the higher-end escorts will go unpunished.

Social media platforms is the new advertiser for higher-end whores in USA.

I doubt their complaining, if prostitution was legalized in the USA high-end prostitution prices will drop

Most US porn-stars are charging $800+ for an hour service, and if the porn-star is popular you will be paying no less than $1000 for an hour service.

Peculiar, as Seeking Arrangement is American owned and administered. I've had great success off that platform, and is obvious its a sex hook up site.......

I just joined yesterday to get an idea what its about, not paid yet. But keep rejecting my description as they said something along the lines of "that is an escort term, SA is not an escort site". The term I used was pay per meet. As I only joined today is the usual, or is it because of the new US regulations?

Seems crazy as each girl is stating what they expect as a monthly allowance  :dash:

Offline Apu

Are there escorts for seeking arrangements site then?

That do 1 hour booking etc

Others who are paying members on SA will know a lot more than me.

Obviously the site doesn't want to appear to be hooking up guys and working girls. But I was looking for some sort of pay per play type of arrangement. Girls on there are looking for things like a monthly allowance etc, so I expect they realise they may have to give something in return.......... but maybe not? When I purely want an hour with a prossie I use AW

From little bits I have read on here seems a lot of work for not even a guaranteed shag, but I am just having a look to add to my education. If I go ahead and pay the £70 for a months membership  :scare: I will report back on what I think of it.

Offline Apu

Thanks for the reply.

But fuck that shit.... £70 membership just to be a sugar daddy.

It might be interesting to see some stats to support that. This chart seems to suggest otherwise, although it’s not about cities specifically:

What’s weird is that this horrifying, anti-liberty government overreach is put in place by the same people who angrily claim government overreach whenever the subject is something like controlling access to military-grade weapons or providing public services. For some reason proponents of authoritarian nationalism always claim it’s in the cause of personal freedom.

Offline Itsnotshy

I believe the reason prostitution is banned but not gun ownership in the USA is the power of the family.
It's not embarrassing to talk about guns in a family environment but parents hate the subject of sex being raised.Makes them feel uncomfortable around their children.
All this prudery and desire to ban anything to do with sex comes from the desire of some parents to keep their annoying little progeny innocent and ignorant.
If guns shot spunk things might be different.

The US anti escort movement has been under way for some years. It's definitely not recent. There used to be a great site, (reviews, ads, chat forums) "My Red Book" , mostly dealing with Bay Area escorts, but it was closed down about 4 or 5 yrs ago apparently for tax reasons. I was sure another site would soon spring up to fill the gap as Red Book was very popular but, as far as I know, nothing has.  Then Craigs List and Backpage became less escort friendly. "TNA Board" is a site that seems to have legit reviews and ads but it's main focus is Oregon and Washington.
Punting in US is now pricey and potentially hazardous (ripoffs, cops) so I wouldn't recommend it.  Canada seems to be just as pricey but has a healthier attitude.

Offline Itsnotshy

Canada also has a sex buyer law.
