Author Topic: Parking at M1 hotels in EM  (Read 1547 times)

I seem to recall a member mentioning parking issues at a hotel on the m1, I think between j23-j25.

I'm hoping to stop at one of them soon and wanted to be careful.

Anyone able to pint me on the right direction or got any advice, I don't want to have to explain a parking ticket or have to break through a barrier .

Thanks

In addition, when touring Leicester, quite a few girls stay at the Hotel on the M1 Services between J21 and J21a.

If you are planning to visit this hotel, you are allowed 2 hours free parking, after which you have to pay £8., otherwise a fine can follow in the post.

When I once went to see a girl for a 2hr appt, I paid this £8 in the main shop at the service station, w h smiths shop(?).

When I started to call out my registration, their system picked up the full number, having only given her the first 2 letters, as it was checking against recent entries.

Note, I preferred to pay the £8 in the shop, rather than get free parking via the Hotel. Although this is possible, it can get messy/embarrasing as it means having to go to the hotel reception, mentioning that you are visiting "a friend" in Room xxx, and that you will be staying over 2 hours. If another punter has already done the same thing, then they may catch on, or it may become embarasing for you. In addition, they may want to speak to the WG to confirm this, before giving you free parking.

It is quite easy to pay the £8 in the shop, as no questions are asked as to why you are staying longer than 2 hrs. If asked, simply say you wanted a quick nap, before carrying on with your journey.

It is not just M1 hotels. The Marriott Hotel and the Hilton Hotel in Leicester have ticket barriers, so these vouchers are either validated at the reception for free parking, or you end up paying the car park fee.

It can be tricky to get your ticket validated, as the WG has usually already had her car parked for free.

Again, I take the easy route and pay for the car park, rather than than get into am embarrasing situation with the reception. At the Marriott, you pay £5 in the machine which is located OUTSIDE the hotel,
so it is discreet. There is no chance of fine in the post, as you simply can't drive out without either paying or getting your ticket validated at the reception.

I visited the Best Western last week at j25 with no issues. The girl had some barrier codes on slips of paper , so no need to sign in or visit reception... Might be worth asking for them to have some...

You could also park  a bit further down the road on the side of the road, and walk up to the hotels at j25... Not far really, 5/10 minute walk...save any hassle whatsoever ever...

There is another way round this parking thing that I've used.

Try buying a coffee and then present the receipt to reception. I always tell them I've been having "a business meeting in the foyer" and they have never questioned me.

Works fine during the day time, when there are numerous staff on reception, and there's a great deal of guests coming in and out of the hotel.

But if you pop in late evening or at night, cafe may be closed, also if no one in the lobby or staff easily spot that you are not in the lobby........

I'm in the Leicester area next week and wondering If this hotel is Escort friendly ?
I will be wanting to have 3 seperate Outcall bookings during the day time and Evening, latest being around 9pm.
So any advice on the Hotel would be appreciated regarding Key Cards, Ease of Girl entering and getting to my room without hassle Etc.
PM me for if you wish, for discretion purposes.

Cheers
