Recently got around to watching Bladerunner 2049 and have to say I was a really disappointed . Not a patch on the original but I guess like a lot of film sequels they fail to live up to the original.
Yeah, I get where you are coming from - I think lots of people think the original (whichever version, there are about 4 I think) is a great movie - and I'm one of them. Watched it loads of times.
"Bladerunner 2049" I was completely split 50/50 as to whether I enjoyed it - The positives are it looks amazing, Ryan Gosling is really great, Joi his holographic girlfriend was clever (the lovely Ana de Armas, who knew Androids could love & feel loss) all the supporting cast were brilliant, Sylvia Hoeks as 'Luv' - Fantastic bitch face
When the action happens it's brutal & convincing but brief - So much good stuff IMO.
The problem for me was the stupid story - Yes, I watched it all the way through - Twice now.
Push aside all the bullshit - Rachel the replicant from the original film was an Android with fake memories to make her seem 'more human'
Deckard fell in love with her & ran away with her - For however long they had .............. The end. Fine, no problems.
Now apparently she was able to conceive - Where did that come from ? Lazy scriptwriting ? Just stupid.
So as much as I actually
did enjoy it - At the end I was like - "Oh do fuck off!"
To liken it to a sexual scenario - Maybe like a reluctant orgasm
