Looks like there is a follow up program about City Sauna, Sheffield on C4 next Wednesday 4th Jan. The info on the program seems accurate as it describes City Sauna as specialising in mature and larger ladies.

Interestingly this came to my attention from the AW page for a girl based in Scunthorpe, does she also work at City?

All i can say after watching that is thank bloody fuck for Polish women.

I wouldn't mind having a turn on the daughter though. Something tells me that for the right price it's possible  ;)

I'm amazed they agreed to do another documentary. I thought they looked like a laughing stock on the first one, or am I wrong? Must be quiet for them.

They did look like a laughing stock bit any publicity is good publicity. Even if the place is a dump.

I agree, but imagine if it was the fit girls of GFE or even an agency like Northern Belles rather than the rough old bikes that featured on the documentary even Laura Lee FFS. Don't get me wrong I don't mind having a ride on a fatty, but even those on the documentary were below my standards. I can't see anyone from Manchester, Leeds or Bradford making the journey to Sheffield to visit for a punt after seeing that.

I think this made for Channel 4 documentary will only want to be taken ironically if the first one was anything to go by.  I watched the original show again - courtesy of the link above (thankyou very much sir)
Their audience is mainly going to be women laughing about her explaining what the blue roll is for and that kind of stuff.  They want to show paid for  sex as some grotesquepeep show, you know to get an angle on it, make it a subject, you know, mother and daughter, why not go for a fun series?
They got other ladies in last time didn't they?  A dominatrix and some other bird suddenly appeared for example.  According to the link from the post above with regard to the next documentary, the 30 year old lady spoke about Channel 4 pimping her into working one day a week so they could use her as the poster girl for the show. Whoever this bird is I bet she won't be there when you turn up after the broadcast.  I don't like soap operas, but I don't like spunk operas either.  Of course I'm gonna watch it though.

Kirie was obviously a plant!

I don't remember her ever being advertised as working there and the fact that she'll bareback anyone is another reason to not set foot in the place.

Thought the youngish slim one who was having her hair extensions done looked ok. Never heard her speak looking at the city website I wonder if she is Vanessa?

Can anyone confirm or deny?

I haven't checked the website, but I wouldn't imagine any parlour/brothel would employ that ticking time bomb.

They won't be the first parlour to employ a barebacker.

Not seen the documentary yet, it was filmed around a year ago, so could be.

I know City Sauna quite well I've visited it often over the last few years.  I saw the last program and I watched it on Wednesday.  It wasn't an accurate representation of how the sauna works.  They have some nice ladies working there Lauren &Faye have been there ages and are very popular.  Ive met Sasha and Stefaine and they have some younger ladies like Claire. NONE of the women who work there wanted to be filmed so they shipped in Kirie and another woman to film. Lacey the red head used to work there but isn't on their website now.  The Campervan hasn't left the Carpark at City Sauna since they bought it. The program hasn't done City any favours as far as I can see. Kath & Jenni have been on National TV twice to tell the world
We run a brothel,  we know sex is being sold upstairs but it's nothing to do with us we just make the tea! We are doing so well we've opened another parlour (Dollys) and were going to tour the truck stops and services in the camper van. And look one of our lovely girls is world famous for doing bareback 3 hole gangbangs. Most of it is make believe but its out there in the media. I'm not sure what the point of the program was  no matter how sympathetic the program makers are they will edit the film to show what they want. The point is to provide a saleable product if accuracy gets lost in the process so what? The program on Wednesday didn't reflect the City Sauna I know.  I don't blame the girls who didn't want to be filmed or the punters who didn't want to be filmed either.  I hope Kath & Jenni were well paid for allowing the filming and hopefully the media attention will fade hopefully unseen by HMRC Benefits Agency and Harriet Harman and her cronies and the women at City can breathe a sigh of relief and go back to work without having to worry about reporters looking for a story or the place being raided because its been on TV.

I think because of the mother/daughter thing as well as the, what I thought of were the unnattractive WG's on offer, I can see the show would appeal to the general non-whore visiting community at large.  TV likes to take an ironic view and it's obvious that this is pitched with the same angle.
I can imagine viewers who saw the show talking the next day about the fat one or the one with the teeth missing etc.  But how it would help City Sauna I've no idea - though according to the commentary their profits have increased since the last show. (maybe the limited £6,000 life savings the mum spoke about was just for the benefit of the taxman.)
The show is clearly a fiction. It's a reality programme that bears no reality to the real business it's carrying on.  Every reality show makes stars out of it's subjects so well now the mother and daughter can have their moment in the spotlight.  I can quite easily imagine City Sauna becoming a TV series first and a parlour second.

My experience of the media is that there is no payment. Of course it may be different here, especially as they allowed then into the premises to film.
However I think most production companies work on the basis that gullible people will appear for fuck all as they are so desperate to be on TV. The producers probably told them a load of old pony that the programme would be good for business to avoid shelling out any payment.

I know they got paid for the last documentary not sure how much they also had an all expenses paid weekend in london including afternoon tea at the ritz when they went to see the final edit of the program before it was screened.
I'm assuming they were paid for the second documentary too
I know the filming took several months and quite a few of the women working there were pissed off because clientswalked out when they saw cameras. Mia left and several of the women who work there nnow have had their photos removed from the website because of the publicity
I know a few of them are concerned about the article in last Friday's Star.

The publicity generated by these programmes will always be a double edged sword. I have been approached by the media myself once and I believe Admin has on numerous occasions.
I met with a producer and asked her straight out what was in it for me and she blabbered about being able to put my point of view. I asked her what was in it materially and she replied there could be no payment, so I asked couldn't you at least publicise my book then? She said this couldn't be guaranteed so I thought they can fuck off. She was persistent phoning me back with her sweet talk, but I was adamant. Basically these people are just building careers on the back of publicity hungry mugs.

Offline munterhunter

There may well be a general policy not to pay people to participate in programs like this. As I said I do know they got paid something for the first program. Based on the fact the first show proved popular with the viewing public (rather than the average punter and a significant number of the women who work at City) a second program was commissioned.  I'm making an educated guess they were paid again. If they didn't then I don't see the point in doing tge second program. It hasn't been well reviewed on sites like this. Punters really don't want to be walking into a parlour and finding a camera crew. During the filming of both shows it interfered with the running of the place. Most of the women refused to be filmed so they had to bring in women who would be filmed and that does city no favours in my view. Im both programs it was made crystal clear that sex is sold in the upstairs rooms which makesvit a brothel so Mother and Daughter could be prosecuted if South Yorkshire Police felt like raiding the place
The program seems to have hit the spot with joe public.  Unfortunately joe public includes the likes of Harriett Harmon and Ms Angry of Totley.  I'd be amazed if the council and the police haven't had complaints prompting the article in last Friday's Star with the headline "Police Chief warns Brothels" where the Chief Inspector said they review any information about criminal activity visit and thoroughly inspect premises and take appropriate action
The priority being the safety of the women. Bottom line........
..South Yorkshire Police in my opinion take a sensible approach to the operation of massage parlours so you can't help questioning the wisdom of going on national tv and announcing we run a family brothel business we're licensed by the council we're expanding. If you look at how working girls operate there will.be some who don't payvtax there will be some who claim some benefits there will be evidence on the premises to prove they are running a brothel and the icing on the cake are the two programs that almost certainly would be played to a jury in the event of a prosecution.

Offline NIK

Yes running a brothel is as far as I am aware still illegal, yet they even included the word in the title, this is all very strange but surely asking for trouble.
Obviously the authorities are fully aware that massage parlours and saunas are fronts for brothels, but so long as they don't draw attention to this seem prepared to turn a blind eye.

It's perhaps reassuring that these horrors were not their regular prossies, surely they can be no worse?  :D

Yes it's illegal under the Sexual Offences Act 2003. If more than ONE woman is selling sexual services on the premises its a brothel. One woman can work she can be accompanied by a "maid" who can make tea answer phones and keep the place tidy. The maid cannot be paid by the working girlbut can receive "tips" from the clients.
Seems a strange way to formulate a law but then most of the uk law governing prostitution stems from laws made in the Victorian era with more recent legislation added to deal with sex trafficking and organised crime. If the police "visited" and found more than 1woman working, bins in bedrooms with used condoms, the notebook with ladies names time they went upstairs with the client and the amount of "shift" money she paid to the sauna thats all thecdots connected to prosecute. In City Saunas case they'd also have explicit feedback describing sexual activity on the various ladies pages and of course the remarks made on the two programs.

The van would also be illegal, surely. If it was such a good idea why don't all parlours have one? I was disappointed that there was no mention of their sister parlour Dollys. Which is the premises they were looking for, the bit with the bus had to be scripted.

Yes the camper van was definitely illegal but as I said in an earlier post it was never actually used Channel 4 or the film makers paid for it and it's now gone from the car park I'm guessing it's been sold. I'm also guessing the sale price didn't go back to the program makers. It seems to me the whole thing was about money and notoriety. It hasn't benefitted the sauna or the women who work there
Time will tell whether the stigma will die a slow death and things will get back to normal or whether there will be repercussions from the police council licensing dept and any other agencies who might have an interest. I hope its the former.

Faye and Lauren are missing from the website both very popular ladies who have worked at City for years. Lauren had her photos replaced by a silhouette but even that's gone now. I also notice that they've removed any reference to Dollys from the City website.  There's obviously been some changes made I hope things settle down and they let sleeping dogs lie and do nothing else to draw attention to themselves or any of the other parlours in the area.

As a parlour guy programmes like this scare the shit out of me,aren't people aware of the current anti-sex agenda of so many politicians/activists.I would not be surprised to hear one day about every Sheffield parlour being raided and closed down under pressure from neo-puritan fascists. The greater the public profile of massage parlours is the greater is the risk of this happening. As parlours are a safe place for girls to work and punters to visit this would be a tragedy, forcing much of the trade back onto the streets or into dodgy apartments with dodgy 'boyfriends' waiting in the next room.

Couldn't agree more - so many seem to ignore the fact that these places perform a valuable service in that they allow men - and no doubt sometimes women! - a safe place to get sexual release.  I am 69 and rather over wild shagging sessions, but I can and do enjoy a bit of a massage, a feel, some RO and HE.  Would these so called do gooders prefer me to go out and rape someone?  Believe me, as one who occasionally works with rape and abuse victims, the results of that are not funny. It is high time brothels were recognised and properly regulated which would be to the benefit of all.

What a silly thing to say.

Aside from the terribly misguided connection you seem to make between 'punting' and rape (from your statement you seem to be suggesting that a man - or at least a man liks you - deprived of the opportunity to dip his dick in a hooker is going to opt for the alternative of raping someone... Statements like that are like manna from heaven for the neo-liveral feminazis!

Of course, what the neo-puritans want is a perfect world of monogamy and no sex out of wedlock - and perhaps none in wedlock unless its for the very specific act of procreation only... none of that recreational sex!!!

But the previous poster - the old gent - is quite right; these parlours - in many parts of the country, whilst legally unlawful, are tolerated by the authorities to a degree. That doesn't make them lawful and as previous cases where the 'defence' (in so much as it is a defence) of 'abuse of process' has been advanced and rejected have shown - the authorities can change their policy at a whim. Turning a blind eye today does not make what was illegal yesterday lawful tomorrow and City Sauna (and the C4 programme producers) would be well advised to take that on board. They've rubbed the noses of many in the shit with that programme and raising the profile of an illegal business is very ill advised and I would say very bad for business.

I would also advise Jenni and Kath to make a very public announcement that they will NOT be appearing in any other programmes - especially Celebrity Big Brother (the part about celebrity status very much aside). Punters will be rightly horrified and greatly put off visiting any of the City Sauna ventures -  editorial control is going to be extremely limited in the Big Brother sense and punters will be naturally fearful of the saying 'loose lips sink ships'. If City want to stay afloat they need to get the stealth paint out and get back under the radar.
