Banned Members and Guests

I get what I want from this site.

I try to contribute.

I'm not really bothered by Banned Members, Guests and SPs viewing the site.

I use the analogy of buying a car.

I like Renault cars but I don't order one over the phone.  I go to the dealers, nose around, fiddle and twiddle with different models, take some for a test drive and then I may buy in.

Noticed that myself yesterday.

IIRC the reason it was removed before was due to stalking. Why it has happened now I've no idea but I suppose Admin will have their reasons.

Under old admin you could request to have your ID switched to Guest so that your posts and reviews could not be traced/followed that easily because they were no longer indexed under posts/reviews.

This was done to help members who were being stalked or had problems at home with a compromised account and needed a veil of anonymity to protect them from a wife/partner at home.  Often there was a name change too.

When members are banned their reviews become posts and no longer count towards his or the WG stats

That explains why some reviews become un-indexed then, had me scratching my head wondering why review counts were going down for some SPs

00.25 hrs and I see there are 1096 guests and 196 users on line. Some how it doesnt seem right that committed members contribute and the guests can come in for a quick search and out. I wonder how many of these are escorts checking whats been said about them

1554 Guests and 435 members currently on line. I know guests are required so they can see the benifits of the site- fair enough. But how many of them continue to visit time and time again 30, 50, 100 times. Surely by then they have identified the benifits as they keep returning. Is there any way such guests can be identified and blocked. I dont suppose it would be an easy exercise either. Just floating the idea really.

There are 86,989 members and how many of them contribute? May be 10%? 15%? So guests becoming members doesn’t solve the problem IMHO. If we get a count of members who have not posted any reviews or posts in the last 12 months but who still login to the site, we will know the scale of the problem. It might be much more than the guests that you are seeing logged online.

So, I clicked on a few users who were currently online and a lot of them were regged from the mid-2010s with 0 posts and 0 reviews etc.

Would maybe be a good thing, encourage members to try someone new at least every year or 18 months. A change being as good as a rest and all that.

Still wouldn't work. With finances becoming tighter I reckon people want some degree of certainty with a regular rather than wasting £x on TOFTT

I tend to stick with wg’s who I’ve reviewed before except a really good regular who I’ve known for a long long time she allows me to film and she introduced me into anal on her and also strap on too

Guests might not all actually be guests. Depending what I’m looking at I don’t always log in, so I’d often appear as a guest….

I’ve been similar, having had many more meets but not many reviews as I only review WG’s I’ve seen for the first time (unless something changes)

So there are some 87,000 members, and a good proportion don't post messages, let alone write reviews, but from time to time one does decide to poke his head above the parapet. Perhaps he thinks he will start to get involved, but he's not welcomed, he's immediately jumped on by a core of members for not contributing to the board, being a leech, or worse, and can end up being banned. So what would you do if you were a sleeping member and thought about contributing? Play it safe, avoid the flak and stay as you are.

1) In the viewing stats users who are not logged in appear as "guest" irrespective of membership status

2) Banned members who have subsequently had their accounts deleted appear with "guest" under their names instead of "banned".
Most of these date back to OldAdmin's final days in charge just prior to him jumping ship. He deleted most of the banned accounts, in so doing removing the reasons for the ban. His stated intention was to give the banned a clean slate to rejoin under the same name. Few actually have. You'll notice these "guest" accounts  are  zombies with no linked  statistics of posts or reviews

I haven't punted in over a year for personal reasons, but still like to log on and see what's going on and add to my hot list when I start punting again. I'm sure there will others in a similar situation.

Not only banned members, I got locked out of my old account and new admin helped me set up this one - my old account now shows as guest. Reviews I posted on the old account are still there but I don’t think my old profile can be viewed anymore so they can only seen by searching the wg’s name or reviews.
