Agree, any SP who doesn't know who you are and how long you're staying by the time she opens the door to you isn't managing/being managed well.
If she asks "how long" then she's not bothered about who's coming after.  So all you pissed off punters dawdling and loitering out on the street or in cafes, cars and doorways are the victims of this shoddy practice.

As an SP and part time one at that I find it interesting how differently we all work and how one thing works for one client but not for another, this topic being a prime example.

I often have only small windows of working time in the evenings around my normal job and my social/family life, I always establish how long the booking is for so I can put it in my diary, I'm prepared and I can give my best to my client.

On occasion I do have the opportunity to do more than one booking in a day, when I have time off work or I'm on tour and as these days are few and far between I like to know how long my booking is for so I can plan my day with enough time to shower etc and get ready again should i have another booking.
