Top left hand of google, select the menu, and look under your time line, now if your phone is tied to your google account, all your tracking details will appear here, and will show you where you have been

It’s an option that can be switched off. I leave it off unless I’m hiking or really want to check a specific trip, though I find it’s a bit slow to catch up.

Switching it off in the settings means your travels don’t show up on your phone or google account (doubtless google tracks you anyway though, and passes info to advertisers, govt big data etc — phones are always tracked unless you remove the battery, run it down, and put it in a shielded steel box. Protecting from an o/h though is fortunately just a case of altering settings).

Some techie bods set up a lifelike apartment and monitored signals going on and out. A vast number of electrical devices were ‘trackable’ From their emissions, even a fucking vibrator. I saw in the news the other day some big department, govt department I think, has banned the Amazon Alexa/Echo device, whatever it’s called. The one you can just talk to and orders food or whatever. Basically the device transmits everything it can hear, even private conversations not directed to it. The Stasi would be having wet dreams for months!!!

All depends on the level of security you want of course, but remember that if you also use your punting phone to call a number that’s in the contacts list of your original phone, that’s something that anyone that’s technically and psychotically interested will use to find you.

Hiding a phone could get a bit messy for those who are in a relationship so I bought a punting sim instead.
The worry I have is if my phone links my 2 sims together and I can be traced that way?

That's something I've wondered about. My personal phone can carry two sim cards. I've considered putting in my punting sim as the 2nd one. It would be more convenient, but from what I've read about how all modern software is focused on harvesting all the info they can, I'm pretty sure the phone would be linking my punting sim use to my personal phone usage.

Since reading how much gets tracked I turn off my personal phone before I head to a punt, and only switch it back on again once I'm well away.

I still use google maps on the punting phone to find my way. I feel that as the tracking info is only linked to the punting sim (bought and paid for in cash), that should be enough digital distance to keep me reasonably anonymous.

To avoid using location services at all, I suppose any of us could try to memorise the route before heading off. Although I've still had occasions where the location provided during booking, hasn't completely matched the final address. So google maps was handy for navigating that final route diversion.

Google maps does include an option to download a map to review off line. I think you can download the whole map for a selected city, or a large portion of it anyway, so the download wont exactly pinpoint where you are headed. If you wanted to completely avoid google maps tracking, but still have the handy use of a map on your phone, I suppose this off line map could also still be used with location services switched off. If you are confident in your old school map reading abilities.

When I’ve used a downloaded map on my phone, it will pinpoint a location in search and also pinpoint where I am. What it doesn’t do is offer direction between the two. Nor does it display “saved places”.

I delete all traces of escort contact after every punt but the GF is not a suspicious type and is very technophobic. As far as I am aware she has never once touched my spare phone and would find nothing incriminating if she did.

That is the answer, those of us old enough to remember a telephone is for making calls, getting in touch with people and having a chat, Use it for anything else and connect to the interweb you have no idea where info will turn up. A chat on the phone can give nothing away, unless GCHQ get involved or the receiver has recorded it.
I am sure text messages can be given word for word by your phone supplier even if you have deleted them.

I used to have the same but found it almost unusable. Typing out texts took an age, trying to do ANYTHING took an age. So I gave up on it and bought a used iPhone 4 off eBay for £20. Works a treat

 VERY recently during a fbsm , the wgs phone kept buzzing so I told her to answer it as I needed a slash anyway. A loud screeching noise eminated from her phone and she asked me " what say ?" And proferred the mobile towards me.

Also be careful which email address you use for punting. I was once sent an invitation email from a punter acquaintance's linkedIn account - showing full name and job. Somehow the nefarious ways LinkedIn and other such Silicon Valley companies use to build their network. Lucky i'm a punter myself so know the pitfalls.

It's common sense to not use a punting sim card in the same smart device you use for your personal or work phones. These apps soak up all that info regardless, sell it on, use it to track and link you to anybody it thinks you know, even if you don't!

It's always best, if using a 2nd punting phone, to stay old school, but if you need a smart phone (for sat nav etc) - to buy a cheapo Android phone, fresh sim card - use fake email addresses and switch privacy and location shit off.

Also if using your personal car to travel to punts with newer built in GPS tracking apps and Sat Nav options - wipe the sat nav data afterwards or safer still just go by bus/train.

Thats good advice. I always turn my location services off or actually turn the phone off if Im somewhere difficult to explain. I have a punting phone for all nefarious stuff.

I use my own phone for punting, but my fb settings are set on the highest privacy settings, and my phone number isn’t linked to my fb. I also never use Whatts app to speak with a WG. Only ever call or text. I don’t have Instagram or Twitter.

I’m a single guy though, so as much as I’d rather people didn’t know what I get up to, I don’t really have a great deal to lose.

I probably should use a punting phone, but I’ve never had any trouble so far.

Even if you do have a lot to lose, I think it would be wise to not let WGs know this. If ever a WG asks, always say you are divorced with no family, and you don’t have a good job. You don’t want to give them a reason to want to target you.

I rarely use WhatsApp and keep it locked so it doesn’t (supposedly) access my contacts. But security on it for sharing contact details is shit, even if it does have end to end encryption.

What it seems useful for (at least from Mr celebrity Vivago’s posts) is networking with prime pussy when travelling. So an extra WhatsApp account could be a useful punting add-on for those that travel abroad a lot to third-worldy places. That also makes it different from a standard punting phone as there’s no way anyone in their right mind wants to network punting contacts between U.K. prοssies.

If anyone can be bothered doing a run down of the details that would be great.
