I suspect many of us have friends or acquaintances with the same hobby but, like most of us, are keeping their mouths shut for various reasons. Being abroad or pissed up are convenient excuses for being open about paying for shagging. I can imagine a lot of those guys have punted at home. I've told no-one and don't intend to.

My situation was entirely unpremeditated and followed a number of years of enforced abstainance as my wife refused to have sex, explain why or seek help either individually or together.  In the face of my steadfast resolve not to be unfaithful she conceded the position was unfair, which opened the way for a discussion about remedy.

I was quite astoundingly naive about punting before I started - to the extent that, without the internet, I almost certainly would not have managed it (I had never punted, visited a massage parlour or anything like it and did not know if anyone who had).  The point of relevance to the topic being; as long as you tell no one and are discreet, no one has a clue what you are like or how you might have changed.

There's too much social stigma attached. Most would be fine with it. But it only takes one to have a problem and it ends up being a big deal.

I think if you enter a new relationship no one should be playing away. However if after 5 years your still in love and the SO has shut up shop you may want to review terms and conditions of your employment....
