Author Topic: How do you relax before a punt?  (Read 2914 times)

I must admit I'm a bag of nerves when it comes to going to an arranged punt. My heart is racing. I'm scared that I might get spotted. And most importantly I want to perform like Lexington steele or Justin Slayer.

It doesn't help that if they are on a 12th floor of flats I will take the stairs instead of lifts as I fear I will get trapped in them.

So when I get to the door I'm in a hectic state.

So does anyone have any tips to calm the mind and relax?

Not relaxing before you are in the door is essential. One slip up could be a big problem.
Personally I enjoy pre-punt as it's an adrenaline rush.
But a terrible SP can make all that energy seem wasted.

Get there early enough to double check the things you are taking with you and your post-punt plan.
It can be a military operation sometimes if a risky punt.

How long you been punting?
In my early days I used to feel nerves before a punt, a bit of Dutch courage used to help.

Online RandomGuy99

I have a sit down and watch the TV.

There's no point getting stressed about it.  Just chill and be relaxed and yourself.  Nobody knows why you're there, so no need to be nervous.

The only bit I might get stressed about is arriving late. To avoid that I plan ahead and usually arrive early and kill time relaxing in the local park, sat on a bench, local shop, neighbouring street, etc. so I blend in and don't draw attention to the SP's location.  A few minutes before the start of the booking I text the SP to say I've arrived and head to their place.  No stress.  No panic. I just act friendly if I bump into a neighbour.  I say hello and smile. No point acting weird and being silent.

Offline freeze44

I fucking knew that bloke I saw in the park texting and trying to look relaxed was a punter!

I am as old as the hills and still get nervous even though I normally only see the same 7 or 8 faves. It is a bit like every other challenge in life; if you don't worry you won't be any good. Not that I make any claims in that respect!

I count £20 notes, sometimes the odd £10 as well.

Sit and have a breakfast in macdonalds and read morning papers, but still excited in what’s about to happen.

Online Thephoenix

This ol'codger still gets nervous before a point, mainly hoping the meds work and I can climax.

But no use worrying.....as that great philosopher Doris Day used to say...'Que Sera Sera'.

I usually try and relax beforehand by just checking if I've still got a pulse.......if so,  it's in like Flynn

I go punting as a form of relaxation. I find the anticipation and the journey there exciting, not stressful.

I just read UKP, that’s pretty relaxing.... most of the time.   :sarcastic:

Offline winkywanky

I don't really get nervous anymore, it's a guaranteed shag at the end of the day  :unknown:.

But I'll have already visualised what might happen during the punt, based on either on reviews of others, or a previous visit to the same WG by myself if there's been one.

I make it sound a bit boring, but I'm bang up for it and confident as I walk through the door (and normally with a hard-on already) Perhaps it's all front? I don't know. But it seems to work for me.

Offline Home Alone

The following - non-rush - routine is the one I've developed over the years that I've been punting. I'm a creature of habit and one of those who'll usually make the arrangement - almost always with a mid-40s [stated age! ;)] MILF whose premises are about an hour's journey from my home - a couple of days in advance.

The afternoon before the appointment, I do a 'one-pot cook' of something like a curry or a bolognese sauce. I have half of it that teatime - preferably around 6.00 pm - then don't eat anything else that day. Two reasons for that: I'll be taking my Cialis next day on as empty a stomach as possible; and I hope to have burned off enough calories in the punt that all I'll be capable of when I get home is to re-heat the remainder of what I made the day before!

On the morning of the punt, I only have a large - about 1/2 litre mug - of instant coffee and wash my tablet down with that. I usually aim for the first appointment of the day - around 11.00 or 12 noon - and set off about 9.30, once my bus pass is valid. ;) As a matter of courtesy, I'll ring the SP about an hour before I'm due to arrive to confirm that I'm on my way. Most of my visits involve both bus and train so I also make a point of getting the fee in visits to different ATMs at the various bus or train stations at which I have to change.

After the event, I'll usually have a brunch in the town where I've punted  before making my way home to finish off the meal I made the night before.

Comedians and musicians say that if they didn't feel a buzz before going on stage they would give it up.

I never drink alcohol before a punt or even with a civvy on first meeting.

Offline cotton

Im not a bundle of nerves , but i do like to drive around for a while to get into the zone and also to have enough time for a good piss so im not worried about having to go for one mid punt.

Offline RobinBrod

Wasn't it Don Bradman who said that the day you aren't nervous before going out to bat was the day you should retire?

Like others I too have a routine. I don't have a smart phone; instead I have a really old fashioned one that simply makes phone calls and sends texts. As a result I have to plan my meetings carefully beforehand, including getting as much of an address as possible beforehand. So usually I plan well in advance - 3 or 4 days usually - and find at the very least a postcode. I travel up to London usually relatively early, but after 10 so as to get cheap rates, and always text the SP that I'm on the train. I try always to get there early, and go and have a drink - nonalcoholic - read the paper, and take a blue pill. Usually text about 10 minutes before I'm due and say I'm in the area and ask them to let me know when they're ready.

Am I nervous? Yes, as its anticipation that builds the tension, which can only come out one way! There is still nothing better than going through that door and getting a first glance at an SP you've never seen before and saying to yourself "Yes!!!!! She's just as beautiful as I saw in her photos!"

I have to plot and plan ahead, concoct a pack of lies to cover my tracks, piss-fart around complying with whatever their booking process is, grab some readies, scope out the route and parking, work out where I might hang about/kill some time/have a piss if I arrive early.... I find all this kind of occupies my mind somewhat and I don't have time to get nervous.
I'm beginning to think I actually arrive too calm and laid-back and I thus take a bit of time to get revved up when I'm there - reckon it might actually be better to have a bit of nervous energy and adrenaline pumping on arrival. Maybe your pre-punt nerves aren't such a bad thing?

Don't take tablets with a hot drink, you 'melt' any casing/covering causing the tablets not to work as they should or efficiently. A bit of cold water will do.

That was possibly because another bodyline delivery was literally liable to knock his block off  :D.

I`ve always taken a hot bath a couple of hours or so beforehand, and then spent an hour relaxing in my reclining armchair to suitable musical accompaniment. I find that Gershwin`s `Rhapsody In Blue` generally gets me into the right frame of mind to enjoy a punt.
(I still have the original 1924 `78` recording of Gershwin himself playing it with the Paul Whiteman Orchestra which I bought in my teens and have managed to transfer to digital).

You know Gordy I could of written that myself. It's the fannying about beforehand that causes me more grief. By the time I've got that out of the way, the journey up to the room is a relief and I know I'm sorted. I'm chilled as fuck by the time I'm knocking on her door.

Not true.  This is one of those things oft quoted (like drink 5 glasses of water a day) that when one digs down there is little or no clinical evidence to support.  Many pages quote this stuff.  And they quote each other. Like here.
External Link/Members Only
But do you see any references that link to the supporting clinical data?  Wonder why! Even if this were true for this patient, the effect is tiny - it will be rounding error in the clinical evidence.  And in this worst case the tablet will dissolve 5 minutes faster, increasing the peak dose in the blood, and decreasing the half life of the dose (basic pharmacokinetics) very slightly.  So if swapping to water, patient may get the reverse: a softer erection than the time before, but the whole effect may last 4 hr 15 minutes instead of 4 hours. My view: not broken don't fix it. Also: don't take medical advice from a punters forum.

Back on topic, I do like arriving early.  Means I have spent lots of time sitting in my car waiting for the clock on my phone to move, or more often, walking up and down the street trying to look invisible.  I confess it does make it more annoying when I arrive at 1:50, and she texts me at 2:05 that she just arrived back and it will be just 5 or 10 minutes.  On reflection, none of my regulars are like that - I guess the annoyance means I don't return.  Or perhaps it is that if they are kind and caring about time keeping, they will be kind and caring about fucking me totally senseless too.

Offline paper7

That's fair enough.
I find taking tablets with hot liquid gives me a horrible taste in my throat as they dissolve quicker so I taken every tablet I've go to with water since then.

I travel to all of my bookings by train which I find relaxing compared with driving. Sit back, coffee, watch the world go by. I’m always nervous before a booking. No less nervous now than when I started. And that’s the way I want it to be. Nervous of how she accepts me, nervous of my own performance, nervous of finding her place without getting lost, nervous of not making a fool of myself. I must say it always seems to work out OK.

If you use Northern Rail at all you won't have time to relax as you'll be to busy with plan B - on your travel arrangements!!

Offline winkywanky

Yes, after being fucked up the arse by Northern Rail it might take the edge off your ardour, somewhat.

Offline B4bcock

I always set off for a punt feeling fairly relaxed, but, depending on what happens along the way, I don't always arrive at the magic door feeling the same way.   If I am visiting a regular, things usually go to plan as I know route, location, time needed to get there, SP's comms preferences etc.   It's usually when I'm going to a first time meet in an unfamiliar part of town where all sorts can start going wrong and the nervous tension builds up.

I doubt it, but it would be impossible for it to be worse. I saw an interview yesterday of a young man who uses NR for his daily commute - I had to smile when he said the first thing he does on waking up was to check which trains are cancelled that morning so he can plan his day. I know someone who does exactly the same thing!

A nice relaxing hot bath just before the journey to the punt. Spotless clean and ready to go. That approach to the door ... there is always going to be a bit of adrenaline going especially on new meetings. That is part of the fun.

It's become commonplace enough for me to punt that all nerves have gone now - it's just anticipation that I feel.

I don't punt that often and I tend to see the same WG. I don't get nervous about seeing them.

I am always on guard going to and leave a punt, just in case.

Very rarely I will see a new WG, I do get a bit of an adrenaline rush before the meet. I know it's excitement so it doesn't bother me. I just try not to get too carried away and keep reminding myself I can walk at anytime if I am not happy about something. Otherwise my cock would be in charge and who know what trouble I'd get into.

+1. Having a punt is my way of relaxing if it's someone I have seen before. If it's someone new I just get a new sense of excitement. Been punting for that long now the nerves have long since disappeared.

Offline Slaveofnature

All my punts take place during the week in the afternoon when I skive off work. When its possible my usual pre-punt process is to locate a bar near the address, get there half an hour before the appointment and relax with a couple of glasses of white wine.  Nerves are calmed, excitement maintained and if for any reason the punt is cancelled then setting up a plan B on my phone can take place in a warm, comfy location.

Offline mrdiamond77

The punt itself is my form of relaxation as I have anxiety. I usually have a walk beforehand though.

Offline Sigatron

Even as an irregular punter I’ve noticed that over time the nerves have gotten less but are still there, the first few punt nerves were almost body shaking nerves.  If the nerves/excitement aren’t there before then it takes another factor away from that meet for me, and you shouldn’t be aiming to be completely relaxed, but then everyone wants different things I suppose.

After punting WGs for a while having my first massage shop experience in London gave me those shaky nerves and the excitement of just walking in and trying my luck became some kind of addiction, where the excitement of what you’re doing in a shop outweighs the fact that finding a WG who does a lot more is more economical. So I do crave that excitement or nervousness before punting.

Once you become habitual then relaxing on a punt becomes easier, but that also involves having a regular/s.

Offline JonasG

Once you're 5-10 punts in, you naturally become more relaxed and at ease with it.

Then it soon becomes as normal as going to Tescos or something.

And don't worry about getting spotted the chances are very slim.

Punting is easy now, I actually get more nervous checking out all the hot E. European girls on the till at the local Aldi. They always smile so sweetly at me.
