Threats from WhatsApp from Skokka.

Hi I have being texting a few escorts from skokka on Watsapp. And I thought nothing of it. Just asked innocently if I could see a few selfies.  Then today I look at my watsapp and I get a missed call and a threatening message from some guy who calls himself William.  Saying he's the owner of a brothel where the girls work and that the girls have complained about me " harassing " them. And asking for photos and not hiring them. He then says I have to pay a fine or he will get 4 men to find me. Take me to him and I'll have to pay with my blood.  He has rang up twice.  Sent a threatening voice message. And has sent a video of 4 african black guys with masks and guns in a van threatening to shoot me if I don't pay up. I'm pretty sure this is some kind of fucked up sick scam. But I'll be honest I'm still scared and worried.  Is this a scam or are they genuinely psychotic pimps?

Is this your personal number or a punting phone?
Did you send any pictures to them?

If personal then you are a fool, if punting then just dump the sim card and get another.
I'm assuming you didn't send then a selfie so they can say they have tracked you all they like but they have no idea what you actually look like.

So they've got a recent selfie of you from the profile pic, is that shared on social media elsewhere?  It doesn't really matter if they're using tools like External Link/Members Only

Does (did) the WhatsApp on your personal phone have your real name attached to it?
If so, the image is just going to reinforce you are the "John Doe" they're harassing.

As others have said, the number they're calling is from the Dominican Republic.  It's probably a scam without basis.  But I'd make a punting phone your priority.

If it were me, I'd seriously consider changing my personal phone number.  Use the excuse you're getting hundreds of callers trying to sell you bitcoins.  But you're not going to get to fully step out of this punting persona by ditching the sim if they know your name and have a recent picture of you.

I wouldn’t worry about it. But this should be a wake up call. You should be using a punting sim or phone. I have WhatsApp tied to my punting number so I can WhatsApp from it. Never from my personal number, no pic of me on WhatsApp,  or any indication of my real name.

Have a good think if your personal number is connected to any social media profiles or if you've published that pic anywhere else in the public domain. If they have your real name as well, then how "findable" are you e.g. on LinkedIn or anything like that? If you have a unique name, then it's even easier. As others have said, it's a scam and unlikely to come to anything since it would require some effort from them. Still, I can imagine it's unnerving, but hang in there. There might even be follow up saying they know where you live, work etc.. but they are just trying to shit you up. Genuinely hurting people is bad for business.

Yes one reason I don't have WA on my advertised number. When I suggest or point at internet presence, the response is often 'I don't trust websites'. Fair enough but equally anyone can send anything by WA.

They seem to be long distance scamming, the OP should probably be more concerned with a Voodoo attack than a physical one.  Dominican Republic / Haiti is notorious for it

Sounds like a scam. Using your personal number was a mistake but just block their number and report it on WhatsApp. Think about, how would they find you and if they could they would physically threaten you before extorting the cash, so it’s just a load of bollocks.

For future punts;

Download hushed and get a cloud sim and then download WhatsApp business and tie that to the hushed number so you can have a legit WhatsApp and punting WhatsApp on same phone (works on iPhone, not sure about android). HTH

They asked for £1500 , so I told them I had it in cash and they were welcome to come and collect it. Every time they said they would do something to me I kept telling them to come and get it until they asked where I was and then I said that I thought they knew where I was!!!

Same things has happend to me a couple of times. I use a burner phone so I don't care. I play alone with them then tell them to fuck off and block them.

It might not be harassing but as one SP has agreed it would more than likely get you blacklisted and reported on the likes of ClientEye, escort put on their profiles whatever pictures the are happy to be in the public domain and they don't know what your intention would be once you have the photo.

Would you be prepared to send an escort your picture?
