Reading in the off topic about 'friendships' developing between punters got me wondering about member's experiences in this regard.

I've been invited a few times via the PM's to meet up in civvy street but always declined.

I was occasionally tempted to attend one of the member's parties on the old NW site just out of curiosity, but was put off by some of the shenanigans and occasional fisticuffs.

Other than the Manchester parties and the hundreds of fellow punters one bumps into during our punting escapades, I've never had the inclination to meet up or reveal identities with other punters, particularly with the perceived risks that might entail.

Just wondering if it's worked for anyone and you'd like to share your experiences.

I've met a couple of other punters through MMF meets, and met one socially a couple of times and I'm sure we will share a few more pints. A bit nervous the first time I met another punter, but of course once we met they all turned out to be completely normal blokes. Life is all about the people you meet and I have no qualms about meeting other punters, especially if we have stuff in common beyond punting.
