Apologies if this has been mentioned before.

On AW, you have to enter your mobile# to confirm a booking request.  Then, for some reason, AW automatically updates this number onto your profile.  In the following few days after I've made bookings, I have also received unsolicited texts from unknown numbers trying to initiate sexting.  Most recently a premium message with picture attachment as well.  I rang my phone provider straight away and they identified it as an adult chat company, which I had never subscribed to.  I guess some cwnts out there are using this information to attempt a scam.

So if you have to use the booking form, beware and clear this information toute suite.

And kudos to whoever posted about AW "notes".  Makes a mockery of having good feedback.

Thanks for this.

I recently met a nice guy for a booking. He was quite nervous about discretion ect as it was his first time punting. Anyway , a few weeks after he texted me and asked if i had passed his number onto other girls , as he was getting txts/pic msgs off random WGs.

I spoke to him to try help him get to the bottom of the problem , and explained  id never pass on a number , so would help him find the source of this "problem" We went through every possible reason that could of put his number "out there" but none of it added up,  and we couldnt figure it out.

In the end he guessed that a male family member might of played a "joke" on him , apparantly the guy had  sent him porn links ect before ...........BUt now ive read this i know the culprit !! F- ing AW !! They dont think things through do they .....This could of caused the end of the guys marriage had the Mrs seen it.... At least I can advise him now to edit profile ASAP. He booked me on AW so mystery solved , obviously local WGs have spammed him.

Thanks for the warning :)
I will spread the word.

I've had the same PAYG number for 13 years now, and have only used this one on my AW profile and have never had any junk texts, etc.

I suspect that a text or a call made to a fake profile which had been deliberately set up to phish mobile numbers as the most plausible reason. If AW themselves had been at it, it would have been well exposed by now, with most members complaining about such underhand tactics.

The only other site mentioned on here that flouts all the laws relating to this is adultway.com (?). Read up on them here. Would you have called any of the profiles on their site by chance?

Finally, hope you are using a PAYG SIM, so that you can easily replace it with a new one, if such problem still persists.

If random SPs are somehow harvesting phone numbers from AW and using them to tout then that is extremely short-sighted, stupid and not acceptable behaviour.

I do however remember someone reporting a spate of spam after he contacted a profile on another site, Adultfairground or something similar.

Personally I never take any number sent to me in an email or booking request as genuine until the person has contacted me from it, and that also goes for private email addresses. My experience is the number of typos made in error, made on purpose or sending their best mate's or bosses contact details with the request "I'd like a booking, I'm in your area phone me" was fairly high.  It can be useful to know the number in advance, but until I'm contacted by them I generally don't give it a second thought.

Come on , lets be realistic. Half of these AW girls cant even string a sentence together , never mind worrying about what is and isnt "acceptable behavior" . Half of them dont give a fuck , sadly.

The guy in my case swears he had only ever used AW. @CoolTiger , quote "  If AW themselves had been at it, it would have been well exposed by now, with most members complaining about such underhand tactics."  Yes  , i didnt explain myself properly , when I blame AW , its for them making the genius decision to automatically put a guys phone number up on his profile , straight after he has used it in the booking form field. ( I did not mean that AW are spamming guys personally , but other WG)

AW are always harping on about "encourage clients to use the booking field" , this will put them off !!

Most casual AW users/punters are not aware of this as they dont give a second thought to looking at their own profile.

Not a good move AW !!! I wonder how many clueless guys have their "non punting" PERSONAL mobile number plastered all over AW now as a result.

Im seeing the man in question tomorrow so can chat to him properly then, I will be strongly advising him to get a punting phone ASAP and to edit his AW ! .

Can service seekers remove the number and replace it with a dud one instead?

I've just had a quick look through the guys who have sent me booking requests which included their phone number, and I cannot see any such phone number on their SS profiles. If it's a recent change one of the bookings was made in the last ten days or so.

I set mine to a dud one unless I'm actually making a booking or waiting for a confirmation text etc.

I've just had a scan through and I can't see any evidence that the number input on a booking request ends up being accessible by other SPs , or anyone other than the SP with whom the booking is made with.

Ooh I stand corrected, I couldn't see it on any recent bookings/profiles made for me, perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place or they are already aware and delete it from the profile. Can you complain to AW?

Thank you, I'm glad someone could back me up.  Now if I have to confirm a booking in this way - generally for a lady I've not seen before - I will go straight to edit profile.  Also I have since unchecked the 'Participate In Client Connections' box, which may be why some chaps did not have this happen to them.

Just wanted to make guys aware of my experience as I'm finding out too much about this site on here, which is kind of putting me off.  Shame.

And again I thank you for pointing this out !!

First it could of caused a lot of shit for my client , second it made him doubt me to be a shit/indiscreet woman who cant be trusted with numbers , hence i did my best to help him find the source ...which we didnt , until now.  ( he just assumed his silly brother had messed with his phone , which he has form for doing , by all acouunts)

Id add this to my AW blog , but say anything derogatory about them on blogs , and your toast.....But i will spread the word.

I think I had a lucky escape when I registered with AW I was using another PAYG sim card which I lost, but the number is still there (if someone has access to it, it was not in use) I am now using another PAYG sim.

Bump...

Just happened again.  Made a booking having to enter phone number for confirmation purposes, which then appeared on my profile until I deleted it.  It should only be viewable to the escort I booked with until that booking drops off, but there we are.

Very odd. I've had my number on my AW profile for years, never saw any reason not to - it's a punting phone, and it makes things much simpler to keep the number on there. I've never had a single junk text or unsolicited phone call.

You can see it on your profile but no one else actually can unless you pay to display it.  It is the same for us we can see our phone numbers but no one else can unless we pay to display it.

Ah thanks for pointing that out Dani - that's just what I thought, but I wasn't sure enough of it to say.

Thanks Dani.  Thought client connections may have potentially made it viewable, but still don't get why they do this.

Are the last few posts down to people using one of those there so-fist-icated "4G" phones, rather than a bog-standard "Punting phone", which doesn't reveal anything about the poor old punter to the Interweb?

Punters, beware!

Just checked my profile, removed my number, opted out of the client connections scheme and made it non searchable by others..... Just need a different email address now....

Paranoia has set in!

There  also appear to be some scam profiles on AW where you contact a SP and she asks you to text a mobile numbe to confirm details. This then signs you you up to a premium chat/services operater that then runs up as much money on that number as they are able by chargable texts.
