But the risks of being too close to home need to be minimised.
How close is too close...?

I have banged a couple within 1.5 miles and a few within 3.....
I wonder if an eye catcher in my street appeared on AW would I risk it?  Probably!!

I would never punt in my area as it is to close to home and I am always worried in case I get seen coming or going to a punt without a reasonable excuse. I always go to Glasgow area for my punts.

I think it comes down to an individual's personal circumstances..is the person married/girlfriend etc ..How much do you have to lose...

I seen one WG twice about a year ago,who was scarily close to where I lived, but the risk for me,i felt,was minimal..apart from her coming into my work one day

Possibly on the same line, not punting from home, but heading into town, so 9 miles away, now here's the dilemma, do you know where your nephews or nieces stay

I have 12 nephews or nieces and 6 of them stay around Glasgow, one I know of stays in Patrick west end, another one stays in duke street

Personally I will just fall on "visiting an old uni friend" with a quick diversion to "fancy a pint?" If they are then great to bring me back down to earth and if not then they worry about not being able to see you rather than what you are up to.

If you have to ask yourself, am I too close to home, then you are too close to home.

In my opinion there's no point in adding to the risk of being caught out, I always punt at least four miles away from home, no guarantee that I won't be caught out but it lessens the risk.

My big concern is going to a flat and the working girl is somebody I know but in those circumstances she would be compromised as much as me.

Earlier this year I contributed to a national newspaper in its magazine section. That was fine, except they turned up at short notice for a photo of me. Yikes! Name, address and picture in one place.

Don't know why but it really hasn't crossed my mind ....I have mostly punted around 2 to 3 miles away from my home. I suppose it could be risky but living in a relatively big city I think it is ok ( certainly hope so , as I am hitched).

I think it only really matters if you know your neighbours or if it's well known were you are visiting is a working girl. Think about all your friends and family etc who stay in say the west end but work in town?

Think it's always safer to stick to flats around the city centre as they tend to be more anonymous, transient tenants etc..

However it is still no guarantee as you could meet a girl in the city centre who you end up running into anyway.

A few years ago my folks retired and moved to a village in Lanarkshire, the woman who lived a few doors down from them was quite welcoming to them and let them know about the area and all that countryside carry on.

When I met her I was shocked to find it was a well known Glasgow WG who plied her trade from the city and was discussed a lot on this sites predecessor.

Fortunately for me I had never seen her, although I had tried.

It would have skinned me a long time ago, I used to see Maria reasonably regularly at her old place as well, was a bit gutted when she moved.

Only time I've seen her in the last year or so is when my mate's been on holiday, he's one of these c**ts who you has a mouth on him as if he should be wearing a skirt and make-up to work so it's not worth the risk for me.
