I can only give my personal experience, and as with the OP, when I do a search in my punting area of choice, there are absolutely zero options at £150 or less that I would want to punt. I've been doing this for around 15 years and that has simply not happened before.

I think 4-5 years is when one can get this view.  You remember the good punts from the beginning.  And forget the trouble.  And also had little to compare to in the early days.  Now you compare every punt verus the best.  As of course you should.

Also UKP gives one more information and helps raise expectations. We have learned that the likes of Hayley and Woofie and EllieRose are out there and we want escorts like that every time. As we should.  But the fact that our expectations are higher can make it seem like it is worse.  So I suggest you try for the best punt with a perfect escort every time.  But enjoy it all too.  Aim for Gold, but enjoy Bronze and Silver. As I say above, my subjective opinion is this is the golden age.

There appear to be some in the £150 range but agree not many in the London area.

I have a free Saturday tomorrow so am planning a 1 hour punt in a neighbouring town in Hertfordshire. Full review to follow. The main reason was that I can get an hour for £120. One was even offering unlimited comes!

I think you miss my point mate; there is a noticeable lack of good looking wgs around atm, an issue which has been touched upon in some of the recent reviews by punters.

I guess one way of getting round this is by trying to place an RB on AW and see if you get any bites from decent girls (dunno about the supply/demand of this but I guess a daytime slot would cost less as I imagine girls are less busy during weekdays, if you can arrange your schedule like that?). Or you could try shorter punts (I'm a fan of 60 or 90 minutes but sometimes the shorter punts are fun as well).

Otherwise, I would recommend trying a trip out of London (if you can find the time), I had a great afternoon/evening trip to Birmingham a few months back, punted the Apple Twins (together and Andy Apple solo), Naughty Sarah and Hot Kim xxx, must admit I found the novelty of being on unfamiliar ground pretty stimulating (also the absolute anonymity as I don't know anyone who lives there so zero chance of being spotted, unlike in London).
