What you say, above post, is fair enough, Sonny. I can't 'imagine' many punters or girls exchanging lovey dovey emails with each other, but as you say, you only imagine it as well. There's quite a few 'shoulds' in your OP - that's ok for you as it's how you see your experience of punting. You're quite 'scientific' in your approach to the hobby, having kept a record of the numbers of times you've punted this year, how many were arranged in advance, on the day, on the hoof etc. and obviously that's your way of doing it. For me, though, it might make the hobby too cut and dried, might take away from the fun, the unexpected, the thrill. I'm not so sure, either, if it's a simple hobby, or if it's a hobby at all. What is a 'hobby'? Is punting a life style, a pastime, a need, a desire, an addiction? I think that probably it's all of these or some of them or different ones at different times in our lives. Maybe it 'should' be simple or straightforward anyway, although it does involve an interaction between 2, or more sometimes, human beings and that's never simple.
