Does anyone know if this still happens in the high end London hotel bars, not looking for hotel names, something im tempted to do bext year when finances allow
They'll be there - it's pretty much an open secret - there have been articles in the Evening Standard about it, effectively celebrating it as a tradition. Don't expect a wide range of services or VFM though - with the advent of agencies and AW their target market is the lonely, the desperate, and the extremely drunk. They'll start off asking some outrageous fee, and your ability to negotiate it down will depend on how much business they anticipate that evening, the severity of their marching powder habit, and how big a kickback they are paying to the head concierge and the bar manager.
Also, be aware that fishing in this pool marks you out as a high-net worth individual with poor self control and planning skills, i.e. the perfect target for a con job. I personally know one guy who picked up a girl who then attempted to play the badger on him, with an irate 'boyfriend' banging on the hotel room door. There are apocryphal stories too of mobile phone footage of a mark cuddling up to the girl in the bar being sent to him the next day, with a message of "do you want your wife to see this?"
